Hi everyone! With all of us having characters of many different shapes, sizes, and personalities, what theme song do you think would suit your favourite toon?

I personally always think of this song whenever I play this little guy

Easy, I main warrior, I play this song always during raiding:

I even played it during the last spoiler encounter because this theme just fits him as much at it did my character

I named my second mesmer Pirate Jenni (Pirate Jenny was already taken) because I wanted a pirate-themed character. Her theme song would definitely be “Pirate Jenny” from Kurt Wiell’s Threepenny Opera. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ec0clERjQ5A

Hm. Interesting question, never considered it before.
For my necro (a human female with the goth face and a gothy appearance) it would have to be something really doomy and minimal, e.g. “Milk” by Undersmile https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ph0q1P5CJY0

For my engineer (female sylvari, gone a bit feral from spending too long in the fractals) it’s definitely got to be some kind of hard-as-nails classic metal with a female vocalist, something like Chastain’s “Seventh of Never” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nNk-kLq-_3A

Because the maintenence of a gold plated cave might not be full of the most epic heroes… but hey, at least we earned it.

I’ve known Donari’s for years. Adolphe Adam’s overture to If I Were King. It’s got all the look-at-me fancy footwork, strutting, ego, and swordplay beats you could ask for. (For the record, Donari the character is nothing like Donari the player, seeing as how he is male, great looking, charming, agile, and has an ego the size of Tyria. The planet, not the continent).

Excellent choice! I first ever heard that music in the mid ’80’s in the movie Excalibur. We didn’t have internet back then so it took me a while to track down what it was. I got cassette tapes of it (didn’t have CD’s either) and played the whole Carmina Burana over and over. When home from college I played my parents’ LP while reading the album jacket for the lyrics … it was long my exception for not liking more “modern” classical music.

I can’t use it as any of my characters’ theme songs, though, since it is indelibly bonded to King Arthur and his knights in my mind. (As is Wagner’s Siegfried’s Funeral Music, played at Arthur’s death).

I’m a Engineer main. What can I say…

A single song? I like to make up an iTunes playlist to fit the personality of each character. They vary widely — hard rock, classical, country, whatever. The one I made the day Prince died has a huge list of his songs (and one guess what hue I used for the armor).

Oh, I use purely game music. I think maybe one time I had Siegfried’s Funeral playing during some RP about a guildie’s character who’d died in the attack on LA.

Theme songs are their own thing, a musical description of the RP personality, not necessarily played while in game.

Easy, my charr engi is most defiantly Starcraft Terran OST . I usualy have the ost playing in the background anyway.

Well I guess since the name of my main character is “Born to be Wild”, I guess it would have to be this.

Well… I have always linked a few songs to my main character, a Charr called Corsac! mostly because I have always imagined this character as a sly and clever Charr with a taste for victory and willing get ahead by any means!

Never thought about this, but I guess the avatar theme. I mean, he controls more than one element with a wide range of skills too. No real metal or blood powers but otherwise pretty close to at least some representation of everything in avatar. I’d kill for a Bender or Avatar spec with melee and/or range skills of different elements from the hands and feet, single target, aoe, pretty much anything works but the point is not so tied to weapons. Like utility skills. Berserker and Daredevil were good in that way, I’d like an elemental version now..

Due to my own experiences, I like characters who have had a rough past but are now stronger because of it. I’d put this as my ranger’s theme cause of the background I have given him.
