Guild Wars 2

So I’ve played GW2 for a while now and I stopped playing for a year and came back to heart of thorns and it’s really new to me. I see that every class can now use a new weapon. So my question is what class is the most fun to you guys? Is it engaging? Is it useful in PvE, WvW and PvP? I have a meaner, engine, ranger, ele, and necro level 80 but I don’t really know which to play on mostly. I usually like to play support in other games like league and overwatch if that helps.

Group: Druid

Solo: Reaper

Group: Chronomancer

Solo/PvP: Dragonhunter

Main is warrior, but I also like to play the necromancer.
While I don’t PvE much with them, I do have some experience with the other classes so I can fractal and raid with them. But that’s about all I do with them. I don’t play story with them.

That’s a personal question and there for you would have to experiment with it yourself. However since you asked for the communities opinion, i can give you mine

For PvE:
- Open world: Daredevil, Dragonhunter
- Dungeons/fractals: Dragonhunter, Chronomancer
- Raids: Chronomancer

WvW:
- Zerg: Chronomancer, Reaper, Guardian
- Roaming: Dragonhunter, Chronomancer, Berserker, Daredevil

PvP:
- Conquest solo queue: Dragonhunter, Berserker, Reaper
- Conquest group queue: Chronomancer, Daredevil

PvE/WvW: Chrono (Power/Condi)
sPvP: Chrono, Daredevil

My favorite for all content is Tempest. It’s not the best at anything, really, but it’s good and it’s fun and engaging. There’s a good build for any situation and tempests are usually welcome in any group situation as well. :P

Ele pre-ice bow nerf. Was real fun to completely gib groups of mobs with a rain of fire and ice. Then it got nerfed.

PvP: condi Engineer. Anywhere else (my main): power Reaper.

General PvE: Elementalist or Engineer
Fractals: Power Necro
Raid: Power Necro
PvP: condi/corrupt necro
WvW: condi necro.

Dragonhunter
Ranger
Thief

Would be my top three.

Mesmer is my favorite for all game modes

Longbow Ranger.

During leveling-up I had most fun with fire elementalist. I still like to run around with her and burn some bad people from time to time.
Recently I’m trying a warrior with longbow. Again, shooting fire and kicking stuff. I must have some fire obsession, I guess. :)
For more serious stuff like fractals or world bosses I prefer my druid. Just like the OP I’m used to play support roles and the old dps competition isn’t exactly my cup of tea.

chronomancer of course,with awesome effects and clones to distract foe.

I don’t enjoy playing any of the classes. Why might you ask, because I’ve been using pretty much the same builds, using the same 4 utility skills, and auto attacking with that one weapon for each class since launch.

Before you say “try a different class”, I’ve geared and played every class.

I use Reaper by preference. I love its pacing, how its weapon and utility skills flow so well together, its animations (especially shroud spinny scythe) and how hard it is to kill. It isn’t as fast to tag things in things like daily events or the leather farm, but did I mention how hard it is to kill? I adore the lack of squish.

So while my lead chronomancer is for fractals, and my daredevil is for first look at story/current events, my lead reaper is for everything else. (I have several chronos and four reapers).

Revenant but it’s a tough road lately.
