but for real, highest item i ever got was like 5 gold worth? cant even remember what it was. playing since headstart. got some tickets from BLC and some total make over kits as well. but i do not really count that. besides in the end it are just some pixels.

not counting MF which gave me ~5k gold worth prec and took them away in the same matter.

But I got some rare weapon from spvp chest that I sold for 90 gold 4 weeks ago.

Ghastly Grinning Shield Skin from Black Lion Key. Was on one of the last days of Halloween 2012. Completed lvl 10 Story on my Guardian, used the key and… Yay!

Abyss dye, in Queensdale. It was one of my first dye drops (perhaps my first).

Well it is quite interesting to read all these posts as it seems like black lion chests give the greatest reward. Does this mean…key farm…???

If we dont count the Colossus I got from mystic forge and Kraitkin from random mob, my best was “Monocle” from the original Mai Tirin dungeon (i dont remember the name) . It peaked at 400 something gold at some point. But I was an idiot and did not sell it, so they introduced that item later again and the prices dropped…. I made 70-80 gold evem after the price drop though

Got Zap from another player in wvw ( + Dawn and an abyss dye from the mystic toilet). Over 3k hours.

I got the legend by someone giving precursors away in LA. glad that happened, because i never got anything good for the past 3 years.

Mini Molten Firestorm, sold it a few months later for ~200g. Probably should’ve kept it until its price spiked to 700g, but I really needed the money at the time, and I got it for free so I’m not complaining :>

Did a key run recently, got absolute trash in the BL chest, and rage-clicked an unidentified dye knowing that it would give me Pink Ice Dye or something. It gave me Abyss instead, that was nice.

Also got Razah’s Nightmare from a quick CoF run recently. I’ve never seen (and don’t expect to see) a precursor though.

Yesterday I played for 3 hours. I got a drop about every 50 kills. Usually it was junk. I got 1 green during those hours. My magic find is 176%. Most of what I got was grey “junk” to sell to the merchant for copper.

I have been on permanent diminishing returns for 3 years.

I got like 3 Holographic Shattered Wings when they were dropping,like 35g each.

SAB Greatsword,Shield,Sword and Scepter too…but I don’t remember the price,but they were a bit expensive at first

But yeah,I think my most expensive DROP was worth like 100g or LESS,never more.

But if you count MF,then I got The Hunter and Zap (800g and 700g)
Got the Hunter while using random rares (like shield,sword,hammer,bow = BAM,The Hunter) and Zap I was trying really hard to get one.
Wasted like 500g (100g+100g+100g+100g+100g,basically everytime I got 100g I wasted it on rare swords) before I bought like 80g worth of swords and got Zap

Aprox 7k hrs. been playing since head start. Most valuable drop i’ve had is from Karka Queen, one of them Karka bows and sold it for around 37g. Other than that, nothing worth mentioning.

Girlfriends aren’t bound. You can lose them at any time, really.

You have to toss a girlfriend into the mystic toilet in a recipe that includes a pricy ring in order to get a fiance. Those are account bound.

not counting BL chest items (got 2 halloween scythe skins from that…but unfortunately sold one long before they were worth much), Pendant of Arah, which is worth about 400g………also All Seeing amulet, Star of Dwayna, multiple abyss dyes (back when dyes came from harvesting nodes)…..but never a precursor.

40g from infinite winters day bell back in 2012, at that time it was a lot. 90g from randomly getting the Bard from the toilet. 2 dwaynas stars, 1st 90g, 2nd 65g. Permanent BLTC trader contract from chest which I AB’d for personal use, I think it was around 250g at the time. No precursor dropped however, +5k hours played

2 Abyss and 2 Celestial from Unidentified Dyes between release and the April 15th, 2014 feature pack which saw them … I guess “removed from kill/gather loot tables” is the nice way of saying it, but not my preferred way of wording it.

A exotic shoulder worth about 6 gold.

Most expensive thing ive ever got was Spark from the Forge and I got that like 20 mins ago. Other than that the only other expensive thing I’ve got are almost useless exotics that go for about ~5g.

Edit: Dont know if it helps but my magic find is at 81% right now? Yay lame exotics.

Same, I got the jetpack to drop in the boss fight from the first LS…sold it for @130 gold when the price was dropping…if only I had known to keep a hold of that thing…I could sell it and buy a Mjolnir…and have money left over…lol

Well today was my lucky day got Collosus from the Forge, tossed in the rares that I got from Teqautl last 5 days. Took me 2200 hours to see my first pre.

Then a guildy said Behe up in 5 min for daily so I just tagged along for fun, got Final Rest as reward.
Pretty nice for 40 minutes of playing the game today xD

• Strength Rune on an exotic armor piece.
• At the time, it sold for just under 8 Gold. Got 1 Mithril from the salvage, so add 40c.
• Not sure where I got it. It was either a WvW reward chest or one of those Exotic Equipment chests from log-in.

Got a (gasp!) precursor once from an absolutely random Risen (not even a vet or champ) while doing dailies in Sparkfly Fen.

Sounds awesome, right? Well, the precursor in question was Venom, so I got only around 50g out of it! Still the most expensive thing to drop for me to date, so I’m not complaining too much, but of all the precursors to drop… :P

Hmm, got Leaf of Kudzu from a lvl 60 something Risen Thrall during a personal story mission (back when mobs still dropped loot) and I recently got Storm from a Risen Krait I killed whilst waiting for Teq in Sparkfly.

I got an Abyss dye and sold it back when it was worth 3 gold and 3 gold was a lot.

I have no idea, not counting BL chests or the Forge. I do get an exotic from a JP chest once in a blue moon (but I have about 15 lvl80’s parked there) and I very rarely get an exotic as drop.
If money spared counts, I’ve gotten 1 ascended armor chest from a WvW chest and one from a PvP chest.
If the BL chests count, I’ve gotten an ore node.
If the forge counts, I’ve gotten the Hunter (which I wanted from day one I knew it existed), and used.

5k hours into the game, mostly pvp. The most expensive drop I ever got was in wvw a hoelbrak rune Zerker chestpiece worth like 12 gold….

Love the game… started beta, early start playing time, I wear the tin foil hat because RNG has stuck to me. Most ever drop… by spending money, which Ive always done. On a key … netted me a permanent hairstyle kit, just this year. Ive read and heard from my guild, that starting new ….erase everything. You get/hit the motherload. hmmm should I upgrade my HAT!!!!!

The most expensive thing I ever got was the hunter (rifle pre) from a random level 10 ice wurm in wayfarer foothills. Sold it for 450g. I should have held onto it until prices went up. It more than quadrupled my wealth at that time though because I had recently bought the game.
Also, not so much in gold value but another thing that dropped for me that was rare was a tequatl’s hoard. I didn’t think it was rare at all until a while after I got it when I saw people complaining in map chat about how rare it was! I got a spear with it (lol) because I already had nice skins for land-based weapons.

Well it wasn’t at the time I found it but when the Southsun cove content was added I got a Mini Karka drop..

back then it wasn’t worth much but today its the most expensive minipet in the game by a long shot..
last time I checked the Trading post it was going for around 2,500g which is just absurd imo

I’ll admit though I got a great laugh out of the expressions of my old guild when I account bound it when I could have sold it for almost 1,000g

I got “The Lover” from the Troll in Queensdale, a week later the Ancient Oakheart dropped “The Bard”. My very first kill in Orr dropped an abyss dye. Around Christmas this past year I had 4 ascended weapon chests drop from Tequatl in a week, I also got 2 mini Tequatls in the same week. Final Rest has dropped around 7 times for me, including 3 times in the first week it was dropping. Bonetti’s rapier twice, Cobalt twice. I’ve done pretty good with the drops, made some guildies very jealous.

I’ve been running Teq daily for a year then at least once a week for another year and he’s never dropped a horde chest..

people like you are stealing all the luck its not fair.. you share or im telling Anet :P haha xD

3k + gamehours. 1 pre – Dawn (2-3k gold spent overall in MF tho).
