Guild Wars 2

I love the game and I have had a blast playing it. But here is my question… what is there to build loyalty to a guild?

I come from a pretty hard core raiding background… so I love raids. Yet there are none here in GW2… whats the common end game goal that requires a group of people to work together?

We planned a few WvW nights, but our guild was segregated into separate groups because at the time no one had 100g for the commanders tome.. and.. half the guild couldn’t get into the same BG because of cue times. People logged out and went to be in frustration.

So why stay with one guild over another if there is nothing to work towards on a group level?

For me it’s all about the Guild chat, I can be doing the most mundane things in GW2 but guild chat gives me an interesting read

Then if I see a guildie out in the world I over react and /fireworks :P

Guild Chat is not glue tho. Its available with any guild.

Lets say Killing Zaitan required 20+ people (more then just 1 or 2 groups).
And that he drops Shards for Conquest Gear (or whatever you want to call it).
And these shards are only available by defeating events of this caliber. These shards enable players to unlock a whole new level of gear or they can be downgraded to be used as dungeon tokens as well.

There you go.. you now have an event that requires more then 1 group of people here is “glue” .. ok ok I know so its a raid.. but still. raids are glue.. guild chat is not!

And thats very nice that you enjoy guild chat! By no means do I want to come off as though I’m putting that down, because I’m not. I’m just saying for some people there has to be another reason to flock together.
