I wonder what’s going in Anet’s team heads, when they made aall this items account bounded, we cant trade material we have to do all alone, and we cant even sell or salvage ascended items…

I think ascended is the worst kind of system that we had in years of Guild Wars.
A lot of junk, taken storage, and none-tradeable or profitable objects.

The better design choice in this particular instance would have been to allow the ascended item(s) to be salvaged for ascended crafting materials. As to why they didn’t do it, i could write volumes, but nobody cares to read that, so there ya go.

My only hope is when they do jewelry 500; They finally allows to salvage all ascended items with the same rule as exo.

I am a huge proponent of ascended being in game. It’s a manageable amount of vertical progression for those of us that prefer that without breaking the game’s horizontal progression focus and lack of gear treadmill.

That being said, it’d be nice if ascended drops, particularly those in fractals, had some more value. Even a 1g or 2g vendor price would make the drop feel a bit more rewarding, especially for players like me who have their preferred characters in full ascended.

I know right? Currently it’s more like, either you use it or get 5 silver… which is totally pointless if you ask me.. why would ascended be less valuable then exotics since the only thing you can make is vendor them..

Jip, I’ve never gotten an ascended that I couldn’t fit in somewhere else. Granted I’ve only gotten 1 ascended drop from WvW and a couple from Tequatl. The rest I crafted. But still.

Tends to be the fractals crowd that moan about huge piles of ascended stuff ‘taking up bank space’, as no one else has the problem.

After all, levelling up a wvw level gets you two greens (worth 3 silver).

I’d love for all the ascended jewelry to be tradeable too, but for whatever reason Anet decided it isn’t and they don’t look like they will see sense on that any time soon.

You’re wrong. Character slot maximum if 64. That’s 320 ascended trinkets, because with 64 characters gear swapping between alts requires either bookkeeping or a lot of time switching between characters.

I have 3 bank tabs full of ascended gear from fractals. There isn’t enough alts allowed to use all of that gear.

You’re wrong. Character slot maximum if 64. That’s 320 ascended trinkets, because with 64 characters gear swapping between alts requires either bookkeeping or a lot of time switching between characters.

The ascended people have bank tabs full of are rings. 64 characters is 128 rings. I have 11 characters all with ascended trinkets fully kitted. And then i have these tabs of ascended (I counted that i have 98 unused rings out of 124). Multiple copies of the same stats and many stat combos i will simply never use.

Yeah the problem is definitely solved by creating more alts. /s

I would love to see a mystic forge recipe that works like this:

4 x Ascended equipment of all the same type (e.g. 4 Ascended Rings) produces 1 Ascended item of the same type that lets you select stats.

That doesnt solve the problem for people who have bank tabs so no stat combo is appealing. Would be better if we could just salvage for account bound mats or vendor for a higher price. Or even trade them in for fractal relics.

You either don’t have many ascended, or have a ton of alts. I’m long beyond a point where i could utilize a new ascended ring, for example. And some stat combinations are simply not viable for any of my chars – i am not willing to completely remake their builds or make new chars just to accomodate a next-to useless stat set.

Just like you same problem here.
I have 10 alts fully geared with ascended jewelry and I run a good amount of fractal.
Recently I got a Mule lvl 2 with halloween bag to free the place in my banks tab.

I have a lot of useless stat combination rings, armor, weapons and trinkets laying around and i don’t know what to do with them. I mean you get them pretty rarely and i don’t want to sell them for 5 silvers or destroy altogether. I agree that perhaps salvaging for bolts of damask would be too big of a hit on the market but i also don’t want to hoard this stuff. Some sort of exchange mechanic would be cool, trade 5 rings for 1 of your choice for example, i mean you can already buy and infuse using fractal relics anyway right?

Salvaging them for things like dark matter and dragonite is what i had in mind. Maybe a rare chance for ectos aswell.

better yet, something like Mawdrey, or maybe Mawdrey herself, that eats ascended rings and spits out random stuff. That’d at least make getting a ring worth the amusement value

That or anything else sounds like a good idea, also I had no idea people could have a maximum of 64 characters per one account o.O.

I’d just raise the vendor price to 15s, along with an unequivocal statement that that’s the best you’re ever going to get for them.

I dont even have that much as you, and still there are some rotting away in my chest because of the useless stats.
I recently needed the space So I decided to use some of them just for getting some more inventory space :/.
