What's up with gorillas in GW2?
GW1 had “tusked howlers” so maybe some were brought to Tyria from Kourna and released into the wild?

I think gorillas probably only lived in Orr, based on the fact that we’ve only ever seen them there. Which means they probably went extinct in the Cataclysm.
Unless the tusked howlers and tusked hunters in Elona are the same thing, but they look different to me. Maybe a related species but not the same.
(There’s some speculation that horses were also native to Orr because they’re mentioned by NPCs and in lore but the only ones we’ve seen in-game were ridden by necrid horsemen who were one of the kinds of Orrian undead in GW1.)
As far as I remember there weren’t even any gorillas, or horses, in the various menageries we saw in GW1 (there were at least 2 – one in Cantha and one in the Battle Isles), which is a shame because then they might have been saved. In GW1 there was mention of trying to conserve the Melandru’s Stalker (which was originally native to Ascalon and almost wiped out in the Searing) by tracking down ranger pets and ones in menageries. And that seems to have worked considering they’re still around in GW2.

I’m going to hell for laughing at this.

Affectionately known by me and someone special as “the poo flingers”
we had a special duo build for farming Sunspear points and them. Good times!
