What's your favorite area/zone in GW2?
That… is a hard question. Wow. I never thought about this, mainly because there hasn’t been a zone I haven’t enjoyed.
…I’ll get back to you on that.

Town lately. I almost never leave!
Divinity’s Reach and Black Citadel are pretty much the winners in this game for me.
Though I spend most of my time in Lion’s Arch :p
No one care to answer?
Lornar’s pass was particularly beautiful for me, especially around the durmand priory.
But one little area I just love for no particular reason is Fort Ranick in Timberline falls, and the river around it. Seems to peaceful and lovely just want to have a picnic there! Didn’t enjoy the heart quest but at least it was a nice area to be in.
The Kodan ships in frostgorge sound are pretty darn impressive too.
The area around Fort Trinity before you actually get to Orr (ugh!) I thought it felt like a warzone and like I was heading off into a huge battle. Love all the big machinery and siege weaponry
Hmmmmmmmm.
The Grove, I think. For a city.
If I have to pick a zone, probably Frostgorge Sound.
Mostly because I love fighting dragons. =D

I like Orr the best; not for the zone itself, but the idea of it. Shiverpeaks would come second, Dredgehaunt Cliffs particularly for the loading screen art.
I’m only a 35, but I enjoyed the visual surprises that met you in Kessex Hills. Huge lake, small volcanic tunnel straight into the earth, ports, large cliffs…it was nice to find new things for the eye several times rather than zones for most MMOs, where what you see for the first twenty seconds is what you’ll be seeing the entire time there.
For a city, Lion’s Arch. Coolest city I’ve seen in a game. It’s a perfect mix of beautiful architecture and shady underbelly.
/petitions for Lion’s Arch themed player housing
For a zone…eesh. That’s hard. Would be a tie for me between Godslost Swamp (love the atmosphere and statues!!!), Mount Maelstrom (the weather is beautiful, and that volcano interior is just epic) and Fireheart Rise. I was running through there near sunset and the light was so golden and gorgeous.
I do really enjoy Orr too, though, especially Malkor’s Leap. I seriously duck when the dragon shadows pass over me.

I can’t decide on a city, as I love all of them so much.
As far as zones, I like all of the Ascalonian zones. And Shiverpeak zones. And Metrican zones. And Krytan zones…
I may need a few minutes to decide.
All the snowy zones … especially Snowden Drifts
Timerline Falls.
I spent a lot of time there farming for materials to catch my crafting up between 225 and 300 (Tailor and Artificer) and surprisingly never got bored with the zone.
It’s easy to move around (up and down; left and right). It has a full assortment of mobs that drop everything. Good DEs, lots of fun caves. If you like underwater (which I do) there’s at least one good under water DE. The zone itself covers snow to the north all the way to swamps in the south with a big lake and plenty of green in between.
There are a ‘few’ patches where it’s a bit overly mob ‘thick’, and sometimes hard to run through, but not too bad.
As far as whoever said Black Citadel. Blech! I went through there on the way to Fireheart to get my Godskull recipes, and stayed just long enough to get map completion.
Then I left, took a ‘really’ long, hot shower. And I don’t plan on going back! ;p
Lornar’s Pass
Lol I have been trying all the classes since I started up to try and pick a main and get a feel for how they play and the only starting zone I am yet to see is Asura one.
Having said that Ive been blown away with most of the capital cities, Black Citadel is amazing, especially if u take the time to discover all the crazy random hidden pretty areas, like pot-plant haven underneath or the scenic park area to the west.
Same goes for human and tree dude starting zones/cities, just wow.
