Guild Wars 2

Hello there!
After a very very long pause i decided to return (finally) to GW2. But i find myself not enjoying melee classes now. I hate them i would say. So i want to make a new ranged one, but i just dont know which one to get.
I was thinking about ranger or elementalist. Im mostly and probably i can say only PvE player. I used to play WoW alot, where i played casters only too. So maybe there are some other good ranged classes in GW2… Anyway. What could you say to me? Which ranged class is a good one nowadays in PvE? Thank you all for your suggestions!
PS: My style is: Kill everything as fast as possible.
PS2: Im maybe more into ranger. Bad idea?

If you want to do dungeons, especially speed clear, then ele is probably your best bet. They have (apparently) highest DPS of the classes and are definitely wanted in dungeons. Ranger is fun to play, but while they can be good in dungeons, I guess it more depends on how well you can play the class. I think you should try both and see which you enjoy the most. Ranger used to be frowned upon but they’ve gotten some good buffs that make them very viable in PvE.

I’ve also heard alot of stuff, that ranged ranger is bad. That people play them only melee. And thats the point why im kinda feared of. The next thing is wont i be bored? I mean… srsly i press only 3 buttons on ranger, dont I? Yet, elementalist has so low range that it makes him almost melee…. kitten this game ^^

Open world PvE: Ranger
Dungeons: Staff, Ele camping fire staff is highest DPS (with certain traits)
Staff ele has slow cast, and the Spellcasting thing like meteorshower is on a long CD and a long cast time.
Ranger is easier to play then staff ele tho…

The only bad rangers are run by poor or inconsiderate players. Give it a try and find out for yourself. That way you’ll also know if its boring play for you.
