What skills do you miss the original?
Original skills?
I miss Hexes and Enchantments from the original Guild Wars. They added a lot of complexity to the battle system and did it in an innovative and interesting way. I could also play my preferred playstyle – which is shutdown/subversion – much more ‘completely’ with Curses Necromancers and Domination Mesmers. I miss that.
Spiteful Spirit, Arcane Echo, Insidious Parasite. Desecrate/Defile Enchantments (I used to love casting these on Dervish monsters)
Pain Inverter for boss one hit kills

I think Veil used to act like Shadow Refuge some time before (maybe before betas)
Winds of Chaos is the new auto attack but I kind of miss Chaos Strike even if it’s a downgrade.
There was skill from Mesmers that would let you swap places with a character apparently. It’s in the preview videos
Doom for Necromancers without going into Death Shroud would be fun

What skills do you miss the original released version of (in GW2, not GW1 versions)?
I was thinking about this… being primarily a mesmer, I miss the original version of Portal. Anyone remember that? You didn’t have to hit “F” to use it, as soon as it was active if you ran into it it ported you to the exit. Not just to the exit, but right past it so you weren’t standing on the exit. Now THAT was a fun iteration of portal. You could chain a couple together such that exiting one put you on the entrance of the second and off you went! Ah, to have that version back would be nice. (To see portal working this way, look at the ANet video for the portal skill released when mesmer was first introduced.)
People were using the original version of portals to troll. I remember in one of the betas, several Mesmers were using portal to stop people from going through the Hoelbrak portal to wayfarers. They put portals in front of the Hoelbrak portal so people were ported away when they tried to go through. They were also porting people who were af’k to different places. The old system would allow you to port an af’k player from a safe spot to next to a mob so he could be killed. It was because of this sort of thing that the Mesmer portal was changed.

OK, now that’s a shame. Maybe only in WvW… hmm…

I miss the skills that you actually went out, and killed an NPC to obtain a skill. God I remember so well helping my brother out with his Dervish class hunting down the NPC’s that gave skills.
Pretty much that entire skill system I miss entirely. Wish GW 2 would’ve done something like that =/.

I think elite skill hunting is missed by many, hell normal skill hunting too.

That was fun… I remember having to capture the elite skill from the boss as he casted it (like an interrupt) .. too bad they changed that!
I know that this is solely about GW2, but Meteor Shower was SO nerfed in this game. It barely resembles the original skill… if it would only knockdown as it used to (hydra memories… which are also gone.)
