First of all, i want to clearly point out that I fully respect Anet and their work on this game that they have delivered to us, its really a great game. However, we can probobly all agree that this game badly lacks some of the game aspects which I am going to point out below (Yes I know these things have been pointed out thousands of times, I just want to express my own opinion and some additional interesting things). Also i want to say that English is not my native language so pardon me for my grammar mistakes.

Now to the main points of what this game really needs to become the best mmorpg on the market

1. Guild vs Guild mode
Im just repeating what has been asked for and talked about thousand times, but this is absolutely true and very needed. I believe this would spark a little bit more endgame and it would definetly improve the game quality by a lot. The ability to see the guild rank would be nice too, like a guild vs guild ladder system or something like that.

2. Guild Halls and real Player Housing system
Purchasable Guild Hall which would include diffrent styles, sizes and structures of Guild Halls for a diffrent amount of guild influence and gold perhaps? Also the ability to upgrade Guild Halls (add workshops, bank system, decorations and other interesting stuff). The current “home instance” system at the moment atleast for me feels really dull and uninteresting. I know that Anet is trying to push out this current system as a Player Housing system really hard, but at the moment it just doesn’t cut it really and doesn’t feel like home at all. Real Player Housing should be a one structure rather than an area or a district to feel like home. The House should be upgradeable for gold (furnitures, workshops, bank system, decorations)

3. New PvP game modes
I believe this would absolutely revive the PvP community by a lot. Give us modes like “Capture the flag” , “King of the Hill” etc. Anything like this would instantly improve the PvP quality. The current one game mode for 2 years really drained out all of the life from the PvP community. It needs resurrection.

4. Expand the world
Theres so much potential here. Far Shiverpeaks, Bloodlegion Homelands, Crystal Desert, Desolation, Vabbi, Elona you name it. So many areas for so much more content and a more epic world overall.

5. Introduce new playable race and class
I would actualy say at the moment further class balance (not that its too much imbalanced, but still needs some work) is more important, but seeing only 1 new race and only 1 new class (preferably a 3rd heavy class, to even out 3-3-3) added to the game would be more than enough and very pleasant. Perhaps this could be added along with map expanding in a new zone? Would make sense.

6. Add more endgame
In all honesty I really feel like the game lacks some more endgame (I know that some people will disagree with me here and will say that Living Story is our endgame, but story continuation is no endgame really, its just story, thats it). Of course the endgame could expand if the above points were introduced to the game, but still, without those i feel like it needs something more. Few examples: a single new dungeon, new legendaries to work on, legendary armor, new traits and build variety, going for minmaxing stats (instead of only +5 power, precision, toughness and so on, why not introduce +6 +7 +8 +9 like we have with agony? It wouldnt be game breaking, but at the same time this very small addition would have a bigger impact for players who want to invest into gear and grind for maximum stats). These are just few examples for extending endgame.

Other interesting ideas, but not as important as above ones

1. Remove around (80-90%) waypoints in a single map
I feel like having waypoints and the ability to teleport anywhere from any place of the world is like cheating and really takes away all the epicness and a sense of travelling. Now imagine travelling through the snowy mountains of Far Shiverpeaks (Lord of The Rings music) for 20-30min just to reach a dynamic event or an epic boss fight. How much more satisfying would that be? The whole world would feel more alive then ever before. My idea for changing this (which I know it feels like game breaking and a huge thing, but one can dream right?) are teleporting stations. Each map would have a single teleporting station maybe in Vigils camp or something like that? Teleports could only be made from station to station. Some of the maps wouldnt have teleport stations. Like Orr region maps. Which means travelling alone is dangerious and exciting. Travelling in a group is safer. Revive orbs would be more essential.

2. Add dueling or open world PvP servers?
I know this seems like a huge deal and hard to implement, but atleast dueling would be very nice.

3. Add Role-Playing servers
Seems simple enough, add a few role playing servers for those who really love the Guild Wars 2 lore. This would bring some variety to the game itself. I for one would love an RP server, where you play as a real Tyrian character.

In conclusion…

These kind of feature pack updates are useless, please bring out the real content before its too late

Every single thing on your list has been said umpteen times and some of it is fine, and would be a nice addition to the game. All of it takes work and some of it is undoubtedly being worked on.

The dueling and PvP servers gets hit hard any time anyone brings it up.

But bringing all this stuff up now at this point is pointless, because we’re busy reacting to today’s patch.

So, old old suggestions is not as great at beating up the new patch.

That’s why people aren’t commenting.

Yeah… I’d like to see most of that too but we have already seen the best of GW2. It will only go downhill from here. You will probably see a couple more QoL, UI changes, new wallet goodies, probably a new zone around half next year if the planets align… that’s it. The season 2 might be entertaining though…

Zerk is the average Joe build. Don’t pat yourself in the back too hard.

I’d love guild halls/airships, housing, farming, and fishing as alternative choices for gameplay. I have felt since the first launch of this game that these activities would allow players a noncombat way of appreciating the beauty that went into designing this game.

As far as posting old suggestions I think it’s absolutely necessary because some of these apparently have not been said enough in the archived suggestions folder or the new subfolder system because they really aren’t looking into them.

I like how they added two things suggested in the suggestions folder archive I would love nothing more for their next feature patch to be 80% what’s in there next time!

Yeah, good point. However, this is what I wanted to point out and remind them that we dont need feature packs at this moment. We are 2 years into the game and all we are getting are small story steps and feature packs which at best provide us diffrent commander tag colours and nothing content wise. I dont understand why is it like this. What are they doing?

They’ll need to get the core gameplay together first. No point in adding those things if new players will get bored to death and vets will get tired of waiting, leaving GW2 in the state GW1 is in nowadays.

I’d like to see most of these suggestions, but we all know it in our hearts they’ll never come true.
Though, I can see the waypoint thing going awry. Straits of Desolation is rather annoying with half of its waypoints contested all the time, forcing you to get through hordes of undead will conditions, knockdowns, stuns and pulls if you want to get to the temple.
I’d honestly prefer to see free waypoint travel, but I’m pretty sure they’d nerf gold income severely or just increase the prices of a lot of vendor items because that means less gold would leave the economy.

This is a T-rated MMO, not a point-and-click adventure for 5-year-olds.
That’s how GW2 ends; not with a bang, but a whimper.

WPs reduced-walking for 20-30 minutes to get to an event> it’s time gating —forget that one as well as open world dueling. (separate map/instance for those that want to duel is fine)

The only 2 I am interested in are 4 and 6 (expand and endgame) and could really save the game.

They are all good ideas except last 3.But eh i wouldn’t hold my breath.Because most of that ideas have been told like 50 times in this 2 years. But we just got QoL,bugfixes and few other things which already had to be in game. And A.net introduced them like they are really big changes and they named them Feature Pack !

Atleast LS was good for few hours every 2 weeks. Now i have to wait 2 more months to get more LS content.Because i get Feature Pack and WvW Tournament which i don’t care except achivements.

I hope they are working on something big like expansion pack or something like said on : http://www.kdbdw.com/bbs/download/182450.pdf?attachmentId=182450

I think the list that you posted is very accurate, precize and exactly what most people want.

It’s also been shared with the publisher many times before. They don’t seem to really listen though. Instead they focus on points that nobody has ever brought up, like the ‘’downed state’’ being too confusing. :O

Disagree until to can show actual numbers—there is absolutely NO WAY you can say this is what most people want and promoting it as such is nothing but unsubstantiated false information. I could easily say many points are what people do not want.

That being said I do agree with the point that the publisher doesn’t seem to listen and implement changes that weren’t ever asked for. CDIs are were suggestions go to die while they pretend to acknowlege what is presented.

Welcome to the new “China Syndrome”! (VIP coming soon???? Wouldn’t put it past Anet instead of some of the suggestion that people have presented in well thought out posts regardless of if I agree or not).

Which points do you think people would not like? And how can you know that people dont want them either? I could only see the last 3 points game changing or game breaking. The first 6 seem solid to me, but thats only my opinion of course.

Sorry for going sour, but when I take the time to reply and then get asked to contribute, makes me wonder why I even bother. Oh well. Sorry for disagreeing with most of your suggestions.
