Is it just random, or usually a certain time during the day?

It’s unpredictable, but keep in mind that Anet’s offices are on the west coast of the US, so their timezone is pretty far back. (Compared to Europe, the east coast, etc.)

ANet’s office is in the PST zone. So look for the patch to come sometime between 9am and 5pm on the day they say for the time zone they are in. They go by that time zone because pretty much everyone is in the office then to take care of any fires that might crop up.

In EU its usually around 18 in the evening, which is midday east coast. I’m guessing that is in the morning west coast time? Makes sense if they want to do hotfixes during the day.

tomorrow should be mentioned as well.

First, there’s no guarantee what time the patch might be available tomorrow (Tuesday).

Second, here’s what we know from past updates:

• Scheduled updates almost always happen during standard ANet business hours, 9 am to 5 pm Pacific Time. There have been very few exceptions.
• Of these, the majority happen between 9 and 10 am Pacific Time. Recently, it’s been very close to 9 am.
• For a variety of reasons, there are almost certainly going to be some bugs. Most of these won’t affect you, but they will affect someone. This means there will also be additional patches and those are harder to predict.

In my experience, they usually happen at a time that’s personally inconvenient for me.

And don’t forget: never play on patch day.

Some media sites have gotten a preview of this “patch”, so there is a fixed time the embargo to talk about this ends which is communicated in advance and which will be ususally the update-time. From the past experience my bet is: 18:00 CEST or 19:00 CEST or 20:00 CEST.

If you are waiting on an announcement as to what time it will be, there wont be one.

However, the patch notes go up at the same time the patch hits, so checking he release notes page is your best bet. They may also put something on the GW2 homepage

Meanwhile these forums are getting very slow to load. Most likely that’s from everyone haunting them for news, but I have noticed in the past that the forums go glacial during patch loads so maaaaaybe Gaile’s “Soon™” is imminent?
