I think there should be a title when we finally acquire all ascended gears (from trinkets to weapons to armors)!

What title would you like to have displayed on your character when you are fully ascended from head to toe?

I would just want a simple "Ascended "

mine, “Finally fully geared, ugh”

as far as I know that is a title from GW, I see it around all the time.
at the risk of sounding sarcastic I would suggest the title “sucker”

You will never get it because the breather is still at masterwork tier.

Second tier will give Honors in Vertical Progression.

Compare to certain skins from all level and rarity brackets leading to Distinction in Horizontal Progression.

However, it irks me because in a couple of weeks/months, Ascended is going to be the standard and no one will even question it. It just takes a bit more time to convince the first sheep to start moving.

how about ‘All dressed up and nowhere to go’ as PVE title
and
we don’t need a WvW title for it as nobody who just does WvW could have all ascended.

I’ve only got one life and try to make the most of it. Threadmill gaming is one of the worst ways to waste the one life you have because it’s not fun. Why is it called a game in that case? Games should be about having fun and wasting little bits of time here and there, not spending frustrated hours grinding for something that’ll be replaced soon.

I think we’d come up with “serious” ideas if it weren’t so dependent upon RNG and grinding to get.

I have a life… I am not going to spend 12 hours a day trying to collect enough mats to get myself a piece of gear that so far hasn’t shown itself to be that much of an improvement (no matter what the number crunchers say.)

If Ascended gear was given for completing some epic task, or a chain of tasks, then I might be inclined to agree with the OP, but until it is, my choice for title would be “More Time Than Sense.”

The annoyance people have is because it seems like a daunting task to do right away.
Personally I haven’t bothered in the least with it, and I have gathered 75% of the ascended stuff I need simply by playing the game, very casually, as usual. If I bother starting to craft my first ascended in a month of so, I’m sure I will have no problem with the resources I’ve gathered effortlessly by then.

What’s the RNG for ascended gear? Whether you get more or less of an ascended material from a chest?

There are people who got ascended weapons in less than a week after they were released…and those people farmed. I’m pretty sure if you make it a more casual goal you can easily have an ascended weapon in a month.

What RNG are you talking about?

The RNG I am talking about is the “chance” to get some of the mats you need from refining other mats, which take time and RNG to get such as ectos from dropped gear, etc. As you said, farming is the way to go. I am also talking about the “Chance” of getting an ascended piece of gear from a chest, as my friend did the other night (lucky kitten.)

I am not trying to bash farmers, or those who play a lot. I apologize if it came across that way. I am simply stating that to ME it’s not worth it. If, down the road, ascended gear turns out to be truly a step or two above what I already have, then I may rethink things and put a bit more effort into getting what I need.
