I just started this game two days ago, and it seems the only fun I’ve had in the game was creating my character. I’ve been doing my story quests, some monster hunting achievements, doing map completions, and those zone events. I haven’t come across many players except when doing the zone events like killing bosses or protecting a convoy, and infact I haven’t even talked to anyone except asking 1 question in map chat.

So is there anything else to do besides this? I know I’m just at the beginning of the game (lvl 15 i think) but it feels like there isn’t much social interaction which is kind of counter intuitive of a mmo.

When the game was early the maps were a LOT more busy and players were everywhere helping each other out and chatting in general. Sadly this has declined a lot now.

I would suggest just exploring for now and doing whatever seems fun for you. Apart from that joining a guild could help with the social aspect as no matter what map you are on you will always have someone to talk to.

Anywho, welcome to the game and hope you enjoy it!

Since when did this business of being a hero become being a business?

yeah there aren’t much players on lowbie maps.. but maybe when you hit mid level you’d come across a few players here and there, try wvw there are always players there., and as stated above try joining a guild, its more fun playing when your have someone to talk to..

If you’re on Sorrow’s Furnace you can join our guild Emotional Lollercoaster.

We do lots of guild stuff and we regularly help out low level players by either leveling alts with them or just going back and helping them. Plus you’ll learn a lot about the game just from being in guild chat since we have quite a few experienced players.

But what I would do is find a couple people that you see around often, that may be leveling at the same pace as you and add them to your friends. That’s what I did, whenever I did events or dungeons I sent out mass friend requests. Easy way to have lots of people to play with.
