They’re everywhere. The place is infested. I report them. My friends report them. Yet days later, I still see the same bots and goldsellers out there annoying everyone.

I thought this was a violation of the Terms of Service, yet I still see them days after being reported.

Should I just not bother reporting them any more? What is actually (if anything) being done about this?

Keep reporting them. Until they get rid of the free trial ,the spammers will always be able to make new accounts after the current ones get blocked or banned. But if they have to keep buying the game everytime they get banned, sooner or later they will stop.

If these bots have actual names instead of being named hkjgk then it’s a hacked account. You can’t blame Anet if other players keep giving the botters they keys to the house. Don’t use your email and game password on fan sites. It’s harder for Anet to detect bots when that account was previously owned by a zealous fan of the game that played for several hours a game.

Goldsellers and bots arnt realy bad for the game(-business).

Each time a Goldseller or bot get banned, they most likey buy a new account and Arena.net makes few more coins.

And while ther are many goldsellers/bots, its a good sign that the game is good/ have many players.

So if you like GW2, than be happy that ther are Goldsellers wich you can report, and make Arena.net earn a bit more money while you dont have to pay a monthly fee.
On this way you can support this game without investing own money

Just try to look it from this side, and you will report futher Goldsellers with a smile in the face

Although I wont be suppriced if ther arnt few MMO-companys who work with Goldsellers together (not saying Arena.net does). But ther is a lot of money to earn with Gold selling it seems, else ther wont be that many.

One thing to keep in mind with the bots, which I see plenty of, is that ArenaNet may be putting “tracers” on these guys. If they are teleporting around like I’ve seen quite a few, they may be working to determine how they are doing it. That way, they can patch the method, block programs that allow them to do that, etc. Its very aggravating when you run into them and they even interfere with something you are working on, but just report them/email the exploits address if they are teleport hacking, and move on. Now if you could just kite Zhaitan to their farm spot…

Report every one of them… The Game economy depends on things being affordable. If the gold sellers gt there way and are allowed to market billions at low costs then market prices skyrocket for everyone. Why? cause at that point there is no incentive to keep prices lower, for the availability of cheap currency makes it possible for anyone to purchase a inflated priced item commonly. all this does is drive more business to ILLEGAL and Banable offensive activities to afford common goods. Eventually markets become ridiculous. where something like Leather or whatever sells for 100 gold or some insane amount like that. See right now you can set a price like that but no one in their right mind is going to buy it. Why would they when cheaper options are available. thus INFLATORs tend to find they can not sell things when they overprice. BUT if they all the sudden have infinite currency available to them, they can corner the market and buy the cheap stuff and only make available the expensive stuff. This is what drives UP prices across the board when these gold sellers get a foothold on the economy. Indeed THEY themselves profit from this type of thing because they often ae the ones trying to corner the markets and in turn sell currency for real money so you can buy it then turn around and give it right back to them to resell through the market… The sooner they are gone the better. BAN every one both Sellers and Buyers (every action in this game is traceable as designed for this very reason). This is NOT an activity anyone wants or needs in any game. you want to buy currency with real money fine do it the legitimate way through ArenaNet. Only then is it legitimate and not CHEATING everyone else…

The game just started and they’re being overwhelmed with several issues from players, as well as patching up the game. It may be taking longer for them to work on the reports. I trust they’ll get more effective in banning those accounts, but gold sellers will most likely continue to pester the most popular MMOs.

i dont care for gold seller, i just block them. but bots, ruining events, this is a major problem.

it doesnt matter what game or company gold sellers will always be around on any game with currency you have to accept this, with every system put in place to catch them and stop them theres another system/program (software) to counteract this.

Yes, I would also say that most of them are hacked accounts. Report, block if you want to. Hope Anet will never introduce the Trial, like WoW did. Gold sellers really had/ have it very easy there.

I been reporting, I feel like im doing my bit but the devs arent doing their share.

I am quite sure they use almost exclusively hacked accounts. There is a lot of evidence pointing into the direction that they are responsible for most hackings going on. There would be no profit if they had to pay for a new account all of the time. They are into it for the profit, there is no sense otherwise. And I did not mean to be rude, sorry if it sounded that way.

Make the gold only tradable between players and Auction house would solve the issue.

GW2 does NOT have a free trial. You buy the game and play forever never spending another dime. ( I know you can spend money for Gems if you want) So ANet can ban gold sellers really fast if they want to.
If people are accused of botting then they do some research on that person. Not sure how long that takes.

Here is the thing with Bans… and Why I say ban both parties of said gold buyer transactions.

1: a warn for ignorance of rules is just not enough, they will continue to break the rules if there is no consequence cause that is what cheaters do.

2: 1 warning is more then enough, if it comes to 2nd warning wipe the account before reactivating it. all gold all items all characters reset to NOTHING. this gives them the chance to play by the rules after 2 warnings now…

3: if the 3rd offense happens its time to Perm BAN the account and their physical address and CC number from participating in the game ever again…

People like to cheat and they are worthless in games. they do nothing but harm to the community at large with their exploits. makes it hard on everyone legitimately playing for their own efforts for what? Profits gained from illegal actions… too often you find some script kiddy bot that people set go off to work and then come home to see what they got. thats not playing. These worthless wastes of human flesh have no concern for the game as a whole or are they participating usefully in the community. All they are doing is collecting goods to sell or market and resetting to go to bed and rinse and repeat the next day.

the people that buy from these resellers are JUST AS GUILTY of rules violations as those selling. Every aspect of this game is traceable by design. when they email spam or email to send the money, however they do it… they leave tracks. both parties should be facing repercussions. once their business starts drying up and it becomes harder for them to steal other peoples accounts, and they start to have to pay each time they get banned they will be gone… I can not wait for that blessed day…

If no one ever bought their gold then they wouldn’t be there. I wonder how many people are purchasing gold, probably a lot…

Bots and spammers can be stopped because players will always be able to spot the patterns that bots always have and follow no matter how many waypoints or the variety they throw in if you follow a bot you can tell its not a person. Not to mention most bots are not good enough to fool people. Just keep reporting if they keep banning the bot guys have to keep buying more copies of the game.
