What should we be doing while waiting for Heart of Thorns? I’ve been away from game for several months.
Please redirect me to another forum topic (if any) where this issue has been discussed already.

SW? DT? World bosses? farm tomes? PVP? WVW? LS s2?

If you have been away for a long time (longer than the ending of season 2 of Living Story), you might have missed the addition of a lot of collections you might want to work on for fun.
If you are really looking for a practical preparation, I would say prepare some materials for crafting exotic armour for your characters (you can go for dungeon tokens or PvP rewards boxes as well). This way you can equip a future Revenant quickly or adjust yourself to new builds (perhaps a shift away from Berserker stats, toward more Condi stats or balanced builds).

Should you have unlocked the Living Story chapters, do the achievements for those now, while you can still find PUGs or people interested in doing them.

As a WvW or PvP, you have missed nothing the past year and you do not have to worry about anything

I’m playing xcom longwar again.

Read a book. Take up a musical instrument. Lose 15 pounds. Train for a half marathon. Take one of the free online courses offered by MIT. Explore a new art medium. Do a detailed study of biblical eschatology. Learn a language (maybe ASL!). Spend concentrated time with a family member. Get to know your downtown. Try a tabletop RPG again and remember how awesome they could be.

Or, conversely….

Make sure you max out skill challenges on all characters. Stock up on 60 tomes for your revenant. Make sure each profession has a cosmetic look that fits the new elite specialization. Make sure they all have ascended weapons (but skip ascended armor unless you’re a masochist). Stock up on time-gated materials you may need to build an ascended weapon for your Revenant. Make sure you have enough Karma to outfit said Rev in exotic gear on day one. Do GW2 Forum pvp.

I’m getting my skill challenges and map completions for my alts done, as well as finishing their personal stories and getting living season 2 done. I’m also making ascended gear for my alts so they’re geared for HoT.

All this is keeping me so busy that I hope HoT doesn’t come out until well into the fall. lol

I went through LS2. Now I’ve been filling my days with map completion, Fractals, SW, Teq and other World bosses, leveling an Alt, and a bit of PvP. Might work on my Ele again too, and do some WvW.

1. If you have still some goals you haven’t accomplished in GW2 you can work towards that
2. If you like farming, you can sell your soul and join the SilverWaste farm train and rack up some gold before HoT is out. Some people enjoy that, I find it a waste of valuable time.
3. Do dailies, log off and enjoy the beautiful summer? Really though, summer time is best time to be outside! Grab a few friends and go enjoy the sun!
