What to do now?
Fractals dead… Okey
I unlock the elite spec weapons atm, and getting more masteries. Materials, rares and stuff sold for that insane amounts of gold you want. Win-win
I’m collecting new skins and outfits to give my characters a makeover. Pretty much the only real goal I’ve ever had in this game. Fashion Wars 2 ftw. Also trying out the new stat combos, which is kind of neat (Viper Engi and Marauder Thief so far).
Fractals are pretty much the only thing I enjoy now, and they’re far from dead. However, if the upcoming patch doesn’t revert the frequency of Ascended chest drops to what they were pre-expansion, I suspect interest in those will die down as well.
PvP occasionally as well, but it I enjoy it a lot less now that the Transmutation charges earned per reward track have been halved.
WvW/Fractals/Dungeons are dead. What is left in GW2? I don’t care about the story and for the moment, I have no goals apart from getting insane amounts of gold to unlock gems store things which isn’t plausible.
What do you guys do atm?
I’m pretty much contemplating the same – what to do with wasted money? WvW was probably the only thing that kept me going, but now the population in WvW decreased dramatically so it’s hardly worth entering.
Dungeons were my favourite part of the game because of the nice armours and weapons one could get. Now it’s close to impossible to even convince someone to do them and rumours (Reddit posts and posts on this forum as well as people in game) say they will soon be history. Bummer.
HoT content is aimed at hardcore players more than casuals. They encourage PVP with broken/imbalanced classes.
All I can think of are Silverwastes, but those also often lack people because of raids in HoT, but that part is also greatly disliked from what I read.
Lately all I do is log in, claim reward, log out.

Serious? That decision obviously redirects towards the gem store.

I’ve just stopped playing altogether at this point.

If by fractals being dead you mean constant groups for multiple levels at all hours of the day every day of every week, then sure, I guess it’s dead…
WvW and dungeons are dead, sure. But I’ll be kitten ed if I sit here and have you claim fractals are dead. They are more alive than they ever were pre-HoT.
If you don’t want to do story, you don’t want to do WvW, dungeons or fractals, I’m assuming you don’t want to do PvP. I also take it you aren’t interested in exploring.
What is it you want to do? Just farm gold? Why? That’s an exercise is tedium. Your time would be better spent doing literally anything else.
It sounds like you pretty much want a barbie doll game, where you can unlock multiple outfits and just look at your characters (yes Fashion Wars 2 huehue…). Most people playing this game seek things beyond this. If that’s all you want, then I would say start playing every MMO you can get your hands on; that way you have all sorts of different characters and armor styles you could ever want, without the worry of having to complain that there’s nothing else you want to do besides dressing up your characters!
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….

Anet’s business model, a couple of third party websites and dozens of topics on the forum clearly suggest otherwise. A lot of people put a lot of time and effort into making their characters look cool. I’ll always maintain that cosmetics make up just about half of GW2’s endgame. Without these, we’d very quickly realise how shallow and limited the actual game play really is.

Getting mad about the new PvP Meta. ;-)
Mourning your $50

Dear OP
1. GW has never been about any PvP. If any the GW1 PvP was nice because it wasn’t competive, it was fun.
The PvP in GW2 is absolutely abused by the players and nobody else is to blame but them. WvW and karma train someone ??? Again PvP and GW is a bad mix from the start.
So you have no point here.
2. Fractals are far from dead. I play a couple per day without any problems to find random players.
No point to make
3. Dungeons are also not dead. One of my 3 guildies is playing them on a regular base to level up alts. On top he enjoys how the stroy from vanilla extends there.
You guys have to understand that the dungeons were never ever intended to be a gold farm. It is a story based mini game. Again abused by players and rightfully stopped.
Again nothing to see here.
4. You admit yourself that you don’t care about storys or RPG gameplay in a RPF.
I am not sure why you point fingers on someone else then you.
The points you make are just not valid or even existing.
I am in a 3 person guild and we have tons of fun and every day is something new to do. Upgrading the Guild Hall, daily Tequatl, leveling alts, equipping alts,
farm some nodes, admire the beauty in Timberline Falls, actually roleplay characters.
I don’t even know where to stop. We are very casually though since we have a busy real live and just a couple of hours per day.
Just a little hint for you.
You are not forced to play GW hours and hours per day. Invest into a hobby or something real life.
Having these high expectations and don’t even play for the right reasons will just annoy you.
Maybe GW2 is just not a good fit for you
