So what do I do with ascended items I don’t need? I can’t sell them, salvage them or turn them in for something at an NPC. Are there no plans to do anything about it?

Fractals of the mists feels pretty much like a waste if you can’t even get anything from the ascended gear. “Oopps i got the wrong stats, now I have to throw this weapon away I farmed for three months”.

Honestly, use them to outfit an Alt you don’t plan to use very often. Stats wouldn’t matter much in that case. Or use the weapons as aquatic weapons. ANYTHING there is better than any exotic.

I strongly recommend that we need to have some ways (either salvageable or collect certain number to change something valuable at NPC or can be forged in Mystic forge) to deal with ascended items. If not FOTM is just a waste of time, you spent usually an hour and there is a low dropping rate of ascended items, getting ascended you desired is nearly impossible, therefore why would people went in for an hour and get nothing out of it? There are plenty of simple dungeons you can do three paths (3 gold compared to nothing)in an hour if team works well, so less people went FOTM which is opposite the purpose of designing it. Please consider my advice and again thanks for your efforts for GW2, hopefully ascended items can be recycled or dealt with in any sort of ways in season 2.

Not sure. Yesterday I noticed you can put ascended rings into forge but I have only 3 spare so didn’t tested it.

I think the reason you can put them in the forge is because that’s how you upgrade them.
