What to do with the loot from Bandit Chests?
I always salvage the blue and try my luck in the forge with the green to get a yellow item.
There is no truly best way, mainly because there are multiple options that result in rng results meaning its not really easy to determine the total value.
For the most part currently cloth blues and greens should be salvaged regardless of level. Wood and Metal producing things should be salvaged in below level ~60 and leather should always be sold either on the auction house or to the npc whichever is worth more.
Yellows currently should be sold if they sell for 15% higher than the value of 1 ecto otherwise probably salvaged.
Exotics should be sold if their sell value is greater than value of the rune/sigil + 1 ecto assuming you don’t need dark matter right now. Otherwise it should be salvaged with a black lion salvage kit to maximize value.
As I understand it, the level 45 suggestion is to get linen and other mid level mats from salvaging. The level 80 is to get the higher level mats and a chance for a higher level exotic. So, it would depend on whether you have a level 45ish char and what mats or exotic you want.
ANet may give it to you.
This^^
Depends on your needs. Personally I salvage all up to (and including) yellows. Even some exotics if they’re under 1 g value in TP. Some mats I use, some mats I sell. Can be fairly lucrative.
Ty for the answers so far. To be honest im just trying to get gold atm ^^. So guess i will try some of the options with a sample ~100 bags each and see how much gold i get per option.
Do the drops depend on magic find? So should i stack perseverance to get better drops?
From what I was told by loads of people ( not sure if its true) MF is only good for Mob Drops, Killing actual mobs in maps etc. MF does not effect World Boss Chests or Any bags You open at all. IT does effect SW bandit Chests When you open them, not the bags you get inside of them.
Split it between LVL 80s and lower (LVL 50ish) characters.
Salvage everything below Yellow.
Fate is just the weight of circumstances
