Today I was really happy that I got an ascended weapon as a drop. Then I saw that it is a stat that I would not use. Here is the problem. It is account bound, therefore I can not sell it in the TP, and I can’t salvage it either.

I know people will say use it on another character…I only play 1 really.

I’m not questioning account bound / unable to sell in the TP. ( Though I think I should be able to)

I just wish that we could salvage ascended weapons that we don’t want / won’t use. At least give a chance to get some ascended crafting mats.

As it is now, it will just collect dust in my storage until i figure something out.

Are the any other solutions? (besides using it on another Character)

If you like the look then transmute it with another item which has the stats you want.

2 choices that I can see. Hold on to it in the faint hope one day it is usable or delete it. Not much else.

1 more option, roll a townie lvl1 and transmute it down for the skin hehehe
Townies good for socializing, bank/TP access, camping the JP chests in LA.

It’s a Mathilde Weapon Chest – Dire (Condi / Vit, Tough) and would be Black in color.

FYI the chest is only worth 3 s 20 b – I haven’t opened it / chosen a weapon since as I originally posted not interested in this combination. I guess I’l just hold on to it for a bit, and then probably npc it later on.

It’s definitely a problem, since they don’t drop much and most stat combinations are useless anyways unless you wvw, in which case a few more are useful. They should salvage into ascended materials for sure.

You can transmutate it if you like the black look.

There are some tolerable condition builds that could put that to good use despite not being precisely the stat lines called for, particularly if you ever roll a necro or engineer.

The CHEST is worth 3silver or w/e but the WEAPONS are worth 1g

I’d hold onto it. You don’t really get much money from selling it. It seems more profitable to hold onto it, and wait to see if Anet changes ascended so they can be salvaged or something.

It must have been a terrible feeling going from joy (getting a pink drop!) to utter defeat (can’t use it, can’t TP it).

Anet, is this how you want your customers to feel when they get a pink drop?

Keep it in case you ever decide to create a con damage char

I’d probably keep it with the hope of being able to salvage it or something later. It’s not like these drop all over the place, so you won’t have a stockpile of them or anything.
Just throw it in the bank and wait for now, IMO.

Yeah necro would be obvious choice. Or an ele, all in black/dark and with smoldering/hellfire pcs.

My suggestion would be to make it an aquatic weapon. People tend to forget about this, but even if the stats aren’t what you would like in a terrestrial weapon just about anything would be better under water.

Save it, theres still time for Anet to change their minds about all ascended items being account bound.

I was thinking, and hopefully someone on the Dev team reads this.

I’m not sure what the % is to get an ascended weapon drop, probably pretty low. I love the fact that you can choose the weapon from the chest.

Can you please change it so that we can choose the stat as well?
