What we will get with "xpac of content"?
Highly doubtful on a level cap raise, ever. GW1 used a level 20 cap it’s entire life if I’m not mistaken. Also would not be holding out for a new class just yet either. Still a lot of balancing before more can be added. I would expect new areas and them filling out currently implemented systems much better.
Other than my personal conjecture it is just a wait and see thing. Devs keep the official plans secret and unless they announce anything (they haven’t yet), we just have to wait for them to make news posts when they are ready.

I’m just hoping for a huge surprise, something that will blow everyone away. I could see some kind of big plan in the making with a release date for Feb/Mar. Would explain why we are getting so little information on all the new content.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Upcoming_changes_and_features
Upcoming changes and features from the wiki. That’s what’s coming right now.
About halfway down the page, quote from Colin Johanson: “We will also have paid expansions.”
And a little further down, from Colin Johanson: “And actually, in February, we’re going to do a whole bunch of expansions on top of that world vs world area, to make that experience even more uniquely Guild Wars. But that’s something where we took a lot of inspiration from a previous game, and take that and then build on it and make it something even more.”
So, really, in february/march, you’re going to look for big changes and additions to WvW. For big changes, you’re going to pay money. Just to be clear, I’ll quote Colin again, at a different point in the statement: “we definitely will do paid expansions down the road.”
So shines a good deed in a naughty world.

I know originally we were told to expect the patches that have so much content that it would be equal/comparable to as much content that someone would see in a paid expansion in Jan and Feb. I know that it was changed to Feb and Mar, but can’t find any actual information on what the content is.
we were told from january to march as far as i know, with the jan patch only be laying the “foundation” for the feb and march patches
I don’t think it is content in terms of what you are thinking of- but more in the line of polishing the existing content balancing and some changes to how the open world plays. As well as fixes and expansion of wvwvw and pvp.
This is great as far as I’m concerned and I would much rather they do this now before releasing even more content.
Don’t expect anything too big to not cost you money.
Colin did say that it is going to be an expansions worth of content for free, which would have to be a paid expansion.

this is what i think too, they did indeed say they will be focusing on making what they do have more solid, so dont expect new classes or area, but maybe more and better DE’s in existing areas, maybe some major changes to existing professions and stuff like that
And if A.Net says Feb/March they mean that the particular patches go live on the last day of each month, so don’t expect them to come any time soon.
Currently playing Heart of Thorns.
I don’t think the updates are a complete mystery. There are some things you can and should expect.
The usual bug fixes
Tweaks to dungeons
More sPvP features
More WvW features (ways to earn ascended gear?)
Profession balancing
Expanded achievement system
There are things we most likely won’t see for a free patch. They include increasing the level cap, new races, and new professions. Then again they did release a new zone and new dungeon so it’s hard to say.
In terms of actual new content you can probably expect the following.
New events (centered around the Flame and Frost living story)
New fractal
One time events related to the living story
New stuff to do on Southsun
Actually you can expect a level cap raise but I bet that will come with an expansion and not content update. GW1 could not raise it’s level cap due to limitations as stated by one of the developers.

and what exactly does you base this one? I honeslty dont think nor hope so, one of the selling points of gw2 is that it should be accesible by anyone, by raising the lvl cap you do the opposite of that, and no matter how liniaer the lvling curve is it will eventually be very long time consuption to get to max level

I knew there will be people like you. I’ve prepared in advanced enjoy.

Colin said early on in an interview “we would definitely increase the level cap” too.
Yup, people should definitely make sure they are up to date with the latest news before contesting others where they based it from. Lol.
Well, the WvW changes have been moved to March, so heck knows what we’ll be getting in Feb. Doubt it will be a lot. So if the dungeon changes, some world updates, and WvW will happen in March, then it’s going to be massive.

If you had been truely prepared, you would ahve put your source in the very post where you actually said that statement, not waiting for someone to ask for it

If i had to chase down every single news of gw2 all over the internet (as a lot of it is not posted on this official site for some reason) i would not ahve any time to actually play the game, in which case chasing down the news would be redundant, so i stick to checking the official site
Anyway, back to the topic. Level cap raising still a possibility. Would love to see more weapon options/skills for each profession too.

If there is ever a level cap raise, it will be part of a paid expansion not a free update.
That said I really really hope they reconsider and keep level cap at 80.

This is awesome. thanks for link

New weapons would really be awesome….
I hope they will add some new weapons soon, don’t want to wait until an expansion….
There are so many weapons which would really fit the existing classes and it would defenitely make the classes even more versatile and interesting!

this is most likely coming with an actual expansion. “expansions worht of content” doesn’t mean it will be the same kind of content you’d expect in an expansion.
also, i suspect GW2 won’t be adding new professions with expansions. just new weapons/skills. which basically are new professions in this case.
