What weapon do you want for your class?
I still want a spear
I really want to see crossbows, terrestrial spears, some kind of bow on elementalist, hammer/mace on engineer, and rifle/pistol on ragers.
I really, really, REALLY want a hammer for my main (Engineer). Really tired of Pistols and Rifles ):
Warrior: Greataxe, Lance, Off-hand Torch, Off-hand Pistol, Scythe
Guardian: Main-hand Shield, Warhorn, Longbow, Lance
Ranger: Hammer, Main-hand Mace, Staff, Greataxe
Thief: Main-hand Sword, Main-hand Axe, Rifle
Engineer: Hammer, Mace (both hands)
Elementalist: Main-hand Sword
Mesmer: Main-hand Pistol, possibly Lance since it is a mage duelist
Necromancer: Greataxe, Scythe, Main-hand Sword
I would love to see new weapons brought into game.
For example always piercing katana
Bouncing skills chakram
1,5 or 2 times bigger range on hits spear users
And few new crowd control skills with them, like pull to 1 spot ( aoe), some type of confusion making you hit ally and so on, too many good ideas on other mmos

Necromancer: Wand, Spellbooks
Elementalist: Orbs (no, this is separate from Focus), Wands, Spellbooks

Spears and other polearms on land. For everyone. If ANet did that, all my griping and grouching would halt immediately, and I would just run around going “WHEEEEEE” poleaxing ambient creatures for like six months.
I feel bad for the guys who made the spears. They are the one weapon set that looks the best overall and they are only ever used in the most avoided and hated combat in the game.
That’s true. It’s not just underwater, it’s underwater melee.

A martial arts type class is really all we have much room for that wouldn’t fit better just being melded into others.
Also, it’s possible that at one point in development rangers could use pistols, and that would help explain that one NPC

I would like to see no weapon as an options, at least for the caster classes.
A mix of ‘caster’ animations.
I could see some boxing, kungkittenand the like for the martial classes.

Warrior – Polearm, 2h Greataxe, Katana, offhand pistol
I’d like all weapons playable, also add crossbow, scythe, pike/spear, claws, brass knuckles, anything really…
ELE: I’d like to see something crazy like a longbow ele just to see what sort of abilities they’d come up with.
Skills i’d like to see with my suggested Weapons, startign with Warrior:
Great Axe
1) Cleaver
This Auto Attack hits all nearby foes and lets them suffer on a Stack of Vulnerability per Hit. If the Foe has some Boons on, foes will suffer also from Weakness when beign hit by this attack.
2) Barbarous Slice
A wide overhead strike that will cause a shockwave that will push back foes and lets them suffer several stacks of Bleeding, so nearer the foe stood to you.
3) Bull’s Strike
A quick dash attack with the head of the Great Axe gettign thrusted into the stomach of the foe, leadign to a daze. If the foe had less then 50% health, then it will knock down the foe instead and cause torment.
4) Critical Chop
A guaranteed critical hit with sloghtly increased critical damage boost that is unblockable. If this attack hits somebody using a Block Skill, this attack will break through the defense and cause to the enemy a big vulnerability stack and cripple the foe.
5) Executioner’s Strike
A fast swinged attack, that deals more damage, so lesser health the enemy has which sends out a sonic scythe at the end of the wide swing that is also a ranged attack.
A) Furious Axe
So more Adrenaline is spend with this Skill’s attack, so longer will a Fury Boon and multi stack Might last on you afte landing a hit with this attack.
1 Adrenaline Bar = 7 Seconds
2 Bars = 14 Seconds
3 Bars = 20 Seconds

Halberd
1) Knee Cutter
A quick thrust attack with the halberd to the kneeds cutting with the Halber’s blade them to torment your foes that way.
2) Griffon’s Sweep
You’ll dash forwird with a whirling overhead propeller slash performing at the end a fast forrward Sweeping Attack that will hit all foes in front of you crippling them and removing Boons from them. While using this move, will projectiles reflect from you back to the origin and damage your foes.
3) Lascerating Chop > Blade Rake
A strong Chop Attack with the Halberd’s Blade to cause Bleedings.
After hitting the Foe, this Skill becomes Blade Rake that if used right after the first hit, lets you launch your foe away from you.
4) Steelfang Slash > Sun & Moon Slash
A powerful Cross Attack hitting the foe twice and gets in regard of Day/Night Time a different 3rd Finishing Hit, that either lets a foe suffer on Burning at Daytime, or Blinds foes at Nighttime
5) Distracting Thrust
A swift thrust attack with that you can interrupt a foe with.
If that foe suffered at that moment on no conditions, he’ll suffer after that Attack on Confusion and gets a Boon removed.
A) Disarm
A quick attack with that you will disarm an enemy temporarely if that Enemy used one handed weapons. The enemies weapon skills will get disabled for 3 seconds.

Flail
1) Menacing Slash > Silverwing Strike > Shooting Star
A Chain Attack that first poisons a foe, leading then to an evasive attack, ending with throwing the Flail like a Shooting Star at the enemy that will cause Burning.
2) Defensive Whirling
You’ll whirl the Flail faster around yourself, lettign you receive Retaliation and Protection, while surrounding Foes will get hit over time with multiple fast but weak hits..
3) Drunken Blow
A slow, but far more powerful attack with a wide swing, but its always critical if that attack lands and cannot be blocked letting the foe get knocked down.
A) Flourish
An Attack that recharges your utility skilsl and the healing skill based on the amount of adrenaline you had when usign this skill.
1 Adrenaline Bar = Utilities/Heal Skill recharges 2 seconds faster
2 Bars = 4 Seconds faster
3 Bars = 5 Seconds faster and you get also cured by a condition.

Part 2:
Quarterstaff
1) Power Attack
An Auto Attack, that makes you stronger as you gain Might Stacks when you hit foes with this.
2) Twin Slash
Lets you hit a foe twice, the second hit causes a short daze.
3) Rotation
You rotate the Quarterstaff quickly in frotn of you, creating a shield effect that lets you block projectiles and causes them to get reflected back.
4) Jumping Attack
A quick Jump Attack with that you will knock back a foe.
5) Protector’s Defense
You whirl around fast with the Staff, creatign for the moment an area, in which allies will receive Protection and Stability for the duration of you whirling around with the Staff.
A) Protector’s Strike
An Attack, that becomes more powerful, so more Allies are in your near under 50% health. Lets Allies and yourself gain at the Area where the Strike lands gain Regeneration and Vigor.
1 Adrenaline Bar = 1 Ally under 50% Health = 20% Damage Boost for the Strike
2 Bars = 1 Ally under 66% Health = 33% Damage Boost for the Strike
3 Bars = 1 Ally under 75% Health = 50% Damage Boost for the Strike.

Torch
1) Dragon Slash
Your Battle Energy manifastates itself into the Flames of your Torch and becomes a Fiery blade that burns foes on hit.
2) Enraging Charge
You receive Swiftness while creating a Trail of Flames while you move as long you have a Boon on you. Your next hit on a foe gives additional Adrenaline.
3) Burst of Aggression
You’ll burst all of your Adrenaline to create a Flame Nova AoE around yourself.
A burning hot Explosion that burns enemies, weakens them and launches them away.
If you kill enemies with this skill, you’ll receive Quickness, but you’ll not gain Adrenaline in that time, however, the skilsl will deal 10% more damage than normal also.
A) “Victory is Mine!”
A Shout with pushing the Torch into the Air, blinding all nearby foes by the bright light o the torch. So more foes you blind with this with higher Adrenaline, so more random Boons will you and your allies receive.
1 Adrenaline Bar = 2 Second Blinds, 1 Random Boon for you and your Allies.
2 Bars = 4 Seconds Blinds, 2 Random Boons for you and your Allies.
3 Bars = 6 Seconds Blinds, 3 Random Boons for you and your Allies.
For me:
Guardian (main): longbow or shortbow. I just want a better ranged weapon than the scepter. I’d also like it to fire glowing blue arrows if possible to keep with the guardian theme.
Mesmer: pistol on the main hand.
Warrior: none, really, feels rather complete as it is. Maybe an offhand dagger to go with sword.
Engineer: Hammer, no doubt about it… even if it’s only because I have one of these and I think it’s a crime engineers can’t use them:

As a Guardian, I would love to have a Longbow, Shortbow, or Rifle at my disposal.

I don’t want nor understand why so many eles want a sword as a weapon. We have a close range offensive weapon with a dagger, mid range offensive weapon with sceptor, and plenty of conjured weapons that are also close to mid range. What we lack is a real offensive ranged weapon that is quick and damage focused. The staff is very slow, clunky, and is more for support than pure damage. I think a rifle with focused in “magic bullets” or ammunition the way some other games manage it would be extremely fun and impressive.

MH Pistol
1) Drain Shot
A Pistol Bullet, that will remove Boons from foes and cures also conditions from nearby Allies.
If you cure this way Conditions, the Mesmer will receive a random Boon.
2) Cry of Pain
A loud Shot, that will torment the ears of your targeted foes at a line of sight
3) Blackout > Backfire
You create an Aura of Distortion from the Blackout around you, that blocks the next incoming 3 Hits for the next 8 seconds, while you are unable to use skills.
Once 3 Hits are absorbed, the Skill will turn into Backfire, allowing you to reflect back a portion of the absorbed damage back to a targeted enemy as also up to 2 conditions, if the absorbed attacks would have dealth conditions to you.

Shortbow
1) Energy Burn
You’ll shoot arcane bolts with your Bow, that will burn the Enemies Energy by crippling them and removing some Endurance from them. If you hit Enemies with less then 50% Endurance, the bolts will deal extra damage and burn enemies.
2) Ethereal Burden
An AoE attack, that will knock down foes, if they suffer on no conditions.
If they suffer already on conditions, this attack will deal for every condition that is not confusion 1 Stack of Confusion.
3) Fragility > Phantom Pain
An arcane bolt, that will fly with super speed piecing through enemies of line of sight dealing weakness. After using Fragility, the Skill turns into Phantom Pain, that when being used, lets you teleport to the the position of the arcane bolt.
This creates at your old position an Phantasmal Archer, whose Shots will cause Bleedings and Vulnerability.
4) Shrink
An Arcane Bolt, that will daze non targeted nearby foes and makes for a few seconds your target enemy tiny, so that the target can’t deal damage to you.
5) Spirit Shackles
A skill, that torments target enemies and that becomes stronger so more the vitim moves, but it cripples them also.

Rifle
1) Spiritual Pain
A Shot, that creates every third shot also a Clone of You.
Every Third Shot that creates a Clone, turns the previous Clone into a Phantasmal Gunner.
2) Wandering Eye
A Rifle Shot, that deals increased critical damage and has higher chances for critical hits. This attack dazes foes.
3) Web of Disruption
Shoots out a Net of Arcane Energy, that immobilizes foes and that drains Endurance
4) Sum of All Fears
An attack, that deals more damage, so more conditions are on the foe.
Increases also the range so more conditions are on the foe by +100 per condition
5) Physical Resistance
You gain Protection and Regeneration for a short time. But in that time, you can’t cure conditions and projectiles deal a bit more damage than normal to you

MH Axe
1) Balance
An attack, that deals lesser damage, if you have more Health, than the foe and deals more damage, if you have lesser health than the foe.
2) Illusionary Weaponry
You deal more damage and receive Toughness Boosts based on the amount of Boons on you.
3) Illusion of Haste
Creates a Clone of you on your old postion and gives you swiftness and vigor for a short moment. You gain also a second of Haste when your Clones hit your foe for the next 10 seconds. Cures also Cripple, Chill and Daze.
OH Axe
1) Illusion of Weakness
Cures Weakness and hits the foe with an thrown Axe that deals Weakness to the Foe, creating as Clone of You.
2) Ignorance
An attack with a wide arcane energetic sweep that hits all enemies in frotn of you, ignoring 25% of their defense and this attack is unblockable.
So far for these weapons.
thief :off hand sword
“commander can i have a word”
Warrior – Either two handed axe or Polearm. (people who say torch, lance(it’s not even a weapon per say unless mounted combat comes into play and even then it sucked) or dagger… zzzZZZZ)
Necromancer – Scythe for sure and/or greatsword.
Thief – Longbow, kodachi or rifle. To mix it up, Shadow Wolf form.
Ranger – Rifle and Pistols. Maybe some type of form transform. Something nature-ish.
Engineer – Axe or Mace.
All classes: all underwater weapons.
If we can use a crossbow (speargun) underwater, why not on land? It makes ZERO sense. What makes a spear or a trident pointy subsurface but blunt in the open air?
I would try sword+pistol combo on my Ranger.
Both main and offhand way.
