Hey guys, I just preordered HoT and I was wondering if the gather tools will stay useful. I just got my gems and I figured what better way to spend them then on the tools. I couldnt find any info about them and if they are adding new nodes or not so I dont want to buy them and have them mean nothing in a month.

Any and all information is greatly appreciated.

Having leveled up my Masteries in the previous BWE to allow harvesting of the new mats in Heart of Maguuma, Ori tools and Unlimited tools both worked just fine.

Nothing to worry about. Unlimited tools are a great QoL item.

Why should anything change with them with HoT? On the new map (betatests) have been the same materials we already have on other maps (mithril, elder wood, …).

So probably there won’t be any higher tier materials which can’t be gathered bei orichalcum tools.
In case there will be higher tier gather materials, they probably will be still harvested by unlimited tools or that they will be gained like the t7 mats from fractals.

You never now, but currently I think chances very, very, very low that the unlimited tools won’t harvest everything with/after HoT.

A reasonable concern given the regrettable status quo in MMOs, but I think ArenaNet knows what to expect if they were to render store-purchased gathering tools obsolete.

Since customer riots tend to be bad for business, I think they’ll do the right thing.

eh.. they most likely gonna add some new styled gathering tools, but thats about it there id say
