What would you prefer?
Simple question what would you prefer and why:
A) Having high density of mobs in Orr
or
B) Having low density of mobs in Orr but with power to kite?
Simply question as i am tired of being slowed/immobilized from walking about in the world. Also i don’t mind killing more stuff then be stop from moving. Its just kitten annoying, not FUN. I don’t like anet’s version of “FUN”
New lvl 80 map, and this time finished with a lot events.
I vote Orr cause it seems like the only way anet provides money. Then of course buying it. ITS A TRAP!!!!! (farm ville 2.0)
@sovta – What new level 80 map? I am talking about how annoying it is to play in orr. It feel like they want to empty out those parts of the map so we go somewhere else. Guess what there is no where to go other that Frostgorge.
I prefer A
However, the main problem isn’t density but the fact that the enemies have needlessly annoying CC abilities, and being unable to control your character is hardly fun.
for there you have been and there you will long to return.
I think the density is fine now in Orr outside the DE’s. The problem, for me, is the power/health of the mobs, continuous major CC, and the number that can one-shot you out of the particle blur. The current Champ risen wraith should simply not be in game with the abilities it has. DE’s in Orr are not fun or challenging. They are so outrageously unbalanced that they are simply silly.
Either one of two things is true; either they made it like this because they don’t want people to play there, or they haven’t a clue about game balance in open world PvE in an MMO. Neither possibility is encouraging in terms of rectifying the issue. I will give them a hint if it is the former. If you want people to play in other areas of the game make them equally rewarding and the players go there. Build it and they will come. It is not a good strategy to encourage players out of an area by making it unplayable. That solution is not a solution and will simply serve to make players angry and bleed their goodwill towards the game.

Orr was fun to play in before April 30. Now, it’s OK to farm nodes in if you avoid events. I have no issue with the normal mobs, but the events are so anti-fun I have to wonder: if they’re catering to the the “It’s too easy” crowd — which I thought was supposed to be dungeon content; or if, as you say, they really have no clue. If ever there was an argument for a test server, this crap is it.
I dunno i only go there for temple events then i leave again ha ha, horrible place is horrible

I think the problem is Anet strongly believed the game will be full with a kittenload of people on every single map and with all the lvl 80 spending their time in places like Orr.
They also may think every single player is willing to help with everything at any time without asking something in change.
So, when we have maps nearly empty with selfish player who are unwilling to help unless the have a warranted “rare”, we are left with unbalanced events/maps impossible/unfunny to do.
So my guess is: They haven’t a clue about game balance in open world PvE in an MMO.
Unfortunately, they also are too proud, so for Anet, anything wrong with the game is our fault, not theirs. People has been complaining about spawn rates/number of mobs (not only in Orr) or ridiculously OP group event bosses (like the blood and krait witch) and the only answer is: We check and is working as intended.
