Whatever disagreements, the Artwork is good
I agree 100%.
I love their artwork, it really keeps me coming back to this game. Their artists should be really proud of what they accomplished here.
I LOOOVE the art in this game! Even my characters are works of art. Tyria is candy for the eyes.
Yep. In terms of art, this game delivers. Flawless beauty.
later. It doesn’t care that I’m there.”
Oh, yes. When I fiddle around on other games, I’m even more impressed with just how GOOD this one looks, from the characters to the world, to the actual art hanging on walls. Amazing.
eta: And if the world had the misfortune to have as me as a mod, I would last about 20 seconds before insulting someone’s mother, questioning their soul (or lack thereof) and then tearing out mine – or someone else’s – hair. I still remember when some Blizzard moderator went rather nuts & I was SOOO there with him! It can’t be easy – we are, after all, an emotional species, and we should be – but who wants a robot, anyway?

Its really beautiful, and ther’es alot of it you don’t always see that you have to look for >~<. Makes it fun to see loading screens, and to go exploring for pretty SS^^. I only wish you could turn fog off somtimes or zoom in first person to take pretty SS; ;~.
Some of the most beautiful map designs I have ever seen. And I have played a lot of final fantasy.

GW2 graphics and artwork have ruined other MMO’s for me.
Art? How about the soundtrack? The one boss fight track is very great, and I’ll take “Fear Not This Night” over the last song with vocals from a video game.
For the record, that’s either “Sanctuary” from Kingdom Hearts 2 or “Another World” from Digital Devil Saga 2.
Totally agree – the art in GW2 is absolutely stunning.
Agreed. The art and world design in this game is second to none. I complain about a lot of things, but credit where it’s due. They have an incredible art department and a virtuoso art director in Daniel Dociu.
Its really tough to go back to the old game too. I last for 20 min tops before the cartoonish art style of a game I played for 4 years starts to bug me and I come back to GW2.

I have to agree, the painterly aesthetic is well done.
i think the art team is what made gw2.
plus a few hints of brillance here and there from all other teams.
…but certainly not the people who decided about the big picture and the endgame.
great thinkers are rare.
The artwork is nice, but unfortunately people take it too seriously. Just look at the artwork related to the January patch and how people took the horse artwork to heart as if we were getting mounts.

Appreciating the in-game art (what everyone else in this thread is doing) and drawing conclusions about concept art, or art that was on the website (but not in the game) are two completely different things.
I no longer play after the 2/26 patch because of the game in the game, but can wholeheartedly agree on the art. I don’t think there was a day I played that I wasn’t stunned by the beauty of this game.
I would agree. The art work is good. But that is about as far as I would push it. It is good.

I agree. The art team really delivers – I’m consistently impressed.
I like how big the cities feel and the little details in zones. Like when running through grass, it moves.
This is something that only gets better, Southsun Cave is really beautiful.
Well done, art team!
The male norn looks ridiculous though, like a big walking 1d10t
