I was here for the event but missed the ending. On the weekend I decided to head over there to see how things had changed since the event. I ran into a few people, but there doesn’t seem like there is really anything to do. No Dynamic events were happening and there are no quests or anything to do. Seems like its just a farm zone for Karka shells, orichalcum, elder logs and passion flowers. The area looks amazing and the way the Karka react to you and fight you is hilarious, but what is there to do? I presumed it was going to be like other 80 areas like Orr were dynamic events were constantly going on. After completely exploring the areas I just left because there was a lack of things to do.

Southsun cove, not cursed shore. It’s basically become a mining zone, you get the crafting mats like you mentioned. The mobs are tougher than any others in the game (most others), so people don’t feel like putting up with them. Anet kinda admitted to this being a bad event.

Southsun Karkas seem to be nerfed as far as loot is concerned. You can kill them and used to get bloods and vials of potent blood but I farmed some today using a sigil of luck in my staff and an omnoberry bar and there was a period where I killed about 8 and they didn’t drop anything. I noticed a big difference in the drops so I wouldn’t recommend that area.
The drops I get in Orr seem to be nerfed as well. I’ve decided to stop playing until they decide what they are going to do with diminishing returns.

I noticed this too with the southsun karka.

I remember going there a month ago or so and while I wasn’t rolling in the cash from the loot there, it was worth visiting at least.

I visited again this week, the drops were awful.
