I dont see many Sylvari Necros.
Are there lesser played combos?

I would say, charr mesmer.

There have been a few surveys done, with slightly different results.

Scholar/Light-class charr seems to be consistently at the bottom, though.

I’d recommend googling/searching reddit threads- some have quite a large response and some are very detailed, also including gender.

Asura – anything, because they look like walking rats. Who should want to play something like them

…and my Necro is also a Sylvari.

It’s funny because I have a Sylvari Necro as my main. My old main GW1 character was a necro with green hair. when they announced the Sylvari race it was like fate.

I also have a Charr Mesmer. I like opposites. I had an Asura Warrior but deleted him for an Asura Ranger. Have a Norn ele. Had a Norn Thief but made a human Thief so he could look like Naruto.

BTW Sylvari make the best necros. Their elite is the only source of invulnerability for necros and if you thing a regular necro is tanky try a sylvari.

apart from anything else, a non-fleshy people wouldn’t have the same cultural inhibition about dead flesh or rotting meat. it’d be like leaf litter is to us.

amen to that. I use both racial elite and racial heal.

Least common race/class combo’s from what I have seen:
- (Female) Charr Mesmers
- (Male) Norn Thieves
- Charr Elementalists
- Norn Elementalists
- Asura Warriors

Male Norn Thieves, even though they have pretty legit cultural armour

The female’s voice is totally immersion breaking for me. The NPC voice actors are almost all spot on, i don’t know how they kitten’d the PC up so bad.

The male, on the other hand, i really like (Charr Engi is my main)

…that said, i still somehow managed to get my charr lady to 80. without turning sound off. and actually she’s one of my big three who’ve completed the full Personal story.

Female Human Elementalist, because there just arent enough of them around.

Asuran Revenant, because Revenant is not out yet.

On a more serious note,
Male Norn Engineer is currently the rarest i think.

I’m leveling a charr necro. Ive not once seen one running around. Figured it would be good for the GS wielding reaper come HOT.

I will say it sort of doesn’t matter in any way. I cant tell what class someone is just by looking at them…at least purely visual. I mean my necro charr is running around in a heavy armor outfit right now.

I observed a naked 10 foot tall Norn male mesmer running around the other day which I can’t say I’ve seen too much in-game, nakedness withstanding.

I thought it was 80’s night at the pub for a second.

I did it because beast-headed trickster demons utilising charms and illusions crops up enough in mythology/pop mythology that it felt right.

i’d guess norn thief, noone wants to make a sneaky giant.

From some data we got a long time ago and a few polls made by users, Charr Mesmer is among the least played combo.

Sylvari Necro is quite common, specially because the main Sylvari character in the book Ghosts of Ascalon is a necromancer.

Mine is named Kharrmer. She’s a Charr-mer.

Huh, I seem to have several mentioned in this thread:

Female Sylvari Necro (will be my first Reaper)
Female Charr Ele (granted, not played much, but was one of my first five)
Male Norn Engineer (because I needed a male norn to be Altdragg Splitstack, and didn’t have an Engie yet)

And for HoTBWE2 I made a female Asura Berserker, as adorable as I could make her. But I’m not sure that counts since I’m unlikely to recreate her.

Ok- I got curious and had to try and find some of the surveys I’ve seen previously.

This one apparently had 10,000 entries, which seems like a reasonable sample size. Not sure how the data was entered- some surveys only allow you to enter one set of data (i.e. one character).

male norn thief. Every now and then i see a few just to buck the system but in reality it just doesn’t work or make sense ^^

My first 80 was a Sylvari Necro. One of the most thematic class/race combos in my opinion, actually (circle of life, mulch pile, fertilizer, etc).

I’d go with Charr Necro.

Norn mesmers.

Level 80 female charr elementalist, and level 50 female charr mesmer reporting in.

The charr elementalist was my first charr character, specialising in fire magic and with a fire shaman father.

The mesmer believes in being a one women war band. (although she does call on a couple of ash legion friends occasionally)

I just LOVE how the planning of my characters works. My revenant will be a sylvari.

Am I the only one who plans on having a character of each race in each armor class? Which means, after instaleveling a revenant, I have either a light armored charr or a light armored norn up next.

I’ve only seen one other female norn engineer, but I can’t say I’ve gone out of my way to look for them.
