Whats the reason to spam me?
They are spamming you with sales because a good chunk of the people that purchased this game have stopped playing, they want them to come back and buy gems.
Your friends that stopped playing are probably getting similar emails. Surprises me though they don’t have a way to check if the account associated with the email address is still active.
Now before you white knights get all angry going “PROOF PEOPLE LEFT GAME?!” it’s normal for significant portions of the playerbase to put a game down shortly after purchasing it, I’m not arguing whether or not its a majority.
I guess they just hate you because of this attitude. I never receive mails for GW2 sales. You’re right about bringing friends tho, brought around 10 myself and they’re not playing anymore either though they say that’s because of study. Well anyway, isn’t there a ‘’stop sending me e-mails’’ button somewhere below the email?

I have never received sales mails by Anet.
The one Time I filed a support ticket I got a mail from them within 3 hours to say that the issue had been fixed.
Experiences differ I guess

1st support ticked I submited was concerning cash store. I wanted to BUY stuff – character slots more specifically. They took 2 days to anwer. And the answer was a pasted messaged that didnt even address my question with a kitten load of random info. Then they took a few more days to answer again – another useless pasted e-mail. After 12 days, they still werent able to answer my question – or even to read it – and sent me ANOTHER pasted message that AGAIN didnt address my question. At that moment, I gave up. And since launch, Im still waiting for a cusromer support experience that has an acceptable answer time and solves the problem. I had a couple that solved the problem, but both of them took way more than they should.
