Q:
Whats your favorite event since GW 2 relased
Mad King would be my favorite too since I’ve loved him through GW1, did all the achievements for it, ignored any other update thereafter.
Dev Speak has been my fav.
Mine as always been Halloween the Mad King too…
Was really hoping they would have beaten it by now…
I liked the Sanctum one the best. Was a really cool place fun to explore, the racing game was also fun. My favorite part of it though was the mini game that was released later the Sanctum Fighters one.
Wintersday festival. Bell choir minigame was great and I’ve always loved turret defense games. I was very surprised to see those in an MMO. And I even managed to do the jumping puzzle.
Second would be Sanctum even though I didn’t do the dungeon thing. It also had nice new ideas and a nice athmosphere.
Edit: Oh and have to add that The Great Toymaker is my favorite melody for the season from now on

I think Wintersday and Shadow of the Mad King. There parts of others events that I really liked, like the Dragon Arena (before it became an afkland), the Molten Facility and Aetherblade Retreat dungeons, Sanctum Sprint (still love it), Southsun Survival, but overall those events always had something here and there I didn’t like.
Shadow of the Mad King and Wintersday were nearly perfect for me
I’ve been too on and off to really catch any of the events.
I happened to catch the Southsun Cove Karka event and was able to go through that one to the end. So that’s the one I enjoyed the most. It was however very flawed and I like how ANet has learned from the backlash they had over that event and has yet to repeat it.
In my previous MMO I really disliked festivals so when Mad King rolled around I think my husband and I spent the time mapping Orr- I missed it completely.
I loved Wintersday, just everything about it
I also very much enjoyed the Queens Jubilee for the gauntlet.
Sanctum was a really interesting place too
For me: " Shadow of the Mad King"!
But loved too the Sanctum one, because the place makes me remember a lot the slams district from GW:Factions!
I want to say Mad King but I missed out on Wintersday so I am not sure. I love SAB too though lol
I loved the Zephyr Sanctum ones but my favorite is Halloween!!!
Halloween has always trumped Wintersday even back in GW1!!
Lunatic labrynth (the mini game sort of like Southsun Survival) is my favorite.
However , don’t hate me for this, the Lost Shores were a good addition (for me anyway)
I’m usually typing on my phone
The Karka event, because I had never experienced anything so epic before.
Brilliant.
What an adrenalin rush.
This year, Tequatl and scarlet invasions. Last year, discovering southsun, despite the lag.
All of the events have been great for me, with some better than others… Yes, it’s nice to have the seasonal events roll around once a year, BUT… I really LIKE the LS events. Even though some may be less fun to complete than others, I can hardly wait to see what’s “next.”
Of the ones we have had, though, I think I would have to say I liked the Wintersday events the best.
This certainly ranks up there as close to number one for me. Oh how I could teach these people some business sense.

“Error Attempting to Sell” Even now it’s still my favorite thing that has ever happened to Guild Wars 2.
Shadow of the Mad King, without a doubt. It had everything: a scavenger quest, fun mini-games, a dungeon, new recipes, and an extremely challenging jumping puzzle. Not to mention the starting and ending events were spectacular. The rewards were actually awesome too: The Crossing/Arachnophobia/Mad Mood/Scythe staff skin were great, and the flaming book backpiece is still my favorite back item. I guess the fact that it was the first event means some nostalgia goggles, but even without the nostalgia factor it blew every other event after it out of the water.
Wintersday came a close second.
Secret of Southsun was a lag-fest, but hey I at least got a precursor out of it. Just not fun though.
Everything after it has been boring IMO; meta-achievements seem like grindfests and ultimately mean very little because the next event is always a couple weeks away with more meta-achievements to grind out, and the reward skins have either been meh (Jade) or hideous (Aetherblade/Sclerite). The only exceptions IMO were some of the Fused and Sovereign skins.
Sanctum Sprint. I played it for a week straight.
There’s nothing like screwing the guy in front of you over with a well-timed lightning as they go over a large gap.
Mad King > All!
