I really hope this wont be a permanent addition to the worlds.

They are really annoying and since they are no longer part of the story couldnt we assume that they have broken down or are there still flame and frost people maintaining them?

Some of them are not attackable, and the ones that are come back when they’re destroyed. You can still pick up the recording but there is no one to give it to.

Looks like an oversight to me since the tents are gone and the fires are out, the dungeon is inaccessible since you destroyed all the access points well.

Yeah those sonic periscopes are annoying. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a fan of the living story concept, but those things aren’t fun at all. Even when they were relevant to the current story. I spent most of the time avoiding them when I was in Diessa Plateau or Wayfarer Foothills.

they ruin the zone and for a low level who has just started, getting into a fight with them isn’t a good idea, especially for a charr, that zones hard enough for a new player without them things hitting you from miles away taking 1/4 health per hit when you’re trying to learn the basics.

On my server, the sonic periscopes were disabled, and then removed a few days ago. Is that what you mean by ‘beacons’?

I was wondering about those stupid periscopes. I hated them so much! I was shocked to still see them after the F&F stuff ended. If they are gone now then awesome!

They haven’t removed them from all server, if any at all. Still up on mine.

Stormbluff Isle as of yesterday I saw four of the Periscopes in Wayfarer Foothills.

Blackgate server. They are all still in their originally placed locations.

They were on Yak’s Bend after the event was over. I haven’t checked in the last couple days, however. Both Diessa Plateau and Wayfarer Foothills.

Stormbluff Aisle – Snowden Drifts, still active, knocking you down and causing damage. Don’t you guys play the game? Any Anet employee out there playing on a live server? Hello? Unbelievable that you dont have a clue what is going on in your game.

Underworld – we still have them even in zones where they weren’t before. Like there’s some in Blazeridge Steppes.

Some still active on Aurora Glade EU, in wayfarer so far.

Sea of Sorrows, charr starting zone. Got one down to 10%, then a veteran molten brawler and crew spawned and proceeded to punch me into a fine mist as part of an event. Also seen them in wayfarer.

They were still up in Wayfarer Hills on Darkhaven as of last night.

I saw several in Diessa Plateau on Borlis Pass. I think there were some in the Plains of Ashford, too, as well as Snowden Drifts, but I can’t remember for sure.

Mostly, I’m wondering: will we be able to turn in any of these audio logs?

They are still present in Isle of Janthir, in Diessa Plateau, Wayfarer Foothills, and the surrounding areas.

They are still present in Jade Sea [FR], saw them in Diessa Plateau and Wayfarer Foothills. I think I’ve seen them in the Plains of Ashford too, but I’ve not visited the other zones for a while, so I guess they’re still present in all of their original zones.

Still active in Yak’s Bend server – wayfarer foothills, diessa plateau, plains of ashford. I’ve got a dozen logs because I can’t just ignore the darn things – they knock me over :c – but no one to turn them in to.

All the periscopes on Tarnished Coast server are still up as far as I can tell. Haven’t checked every single one, but all the usuals are in place.

They’ve been disappearing gradually (SBI)

Whether intentional or not (and I’m thinking not :P) seems kind of cool and sensible.

I was finished off mapping Diessa today (on Desolation) and not only were the Periscopes still there, one of the Molten Alliance events popped up as well.

I was surprised because I thought they’d all been removed.
