I play males, however I feel its kind of weird that females hold things differently then males do, females seem to be more aggressive and I like the way they attack more.

I see different querky things like kites which allow me to wield like a female would, and females can wield things like a male can, which leaves me to believe that it doesn’t matter, they are just different.

Why isn’t there an option to allow my male to carry and swing like the way I want to? Honestly its a little sexist.

Don’t you think a male character with the Staff standing animation of Female Humans would look weird?

I actually agree. Human female bow animations are cool. Greatsword too.

Yep, its kind of sexist. I wanna wield my staff like a female would.

It would be nice if we got styles and options of how we could wield our weapons.

I’m a male and will always wield my staff accordingly.

Maintain a firm grip on the shaft, and keep your helmet well-polished. You’ll get there.

I actually agree with this in many ways. The staff is the first to come to my mind. The female staff wielders hold the staff in a manner that screams sage wisdom, while the males hold it like they are preparing to sprint off in a race. It looks beyond ridiculous when idling in a city and holding the staff.

Yeah, one of the reasons why I rarely use staff on my main is the half-crouch, I hate it. At the very least give us the Norn drawn-but-idle stance, it’s not as bad.

I think the females are modeled so the weapons appear to have heft/weight/mass to them while the males are modeled as if the weight of the weapon seems like nothing to them.

We are heroes. This is what we do!

Norn males hold greatswords the same as females iirc….but honestly if there was any wielding change I could want it’d be so that I could swap hand positioning so that my main hand weapon is in my left hand, and my offhand is on the right. No love for lefty’s in mmos!

In this game specifically though, I think there’s a reason for that. So much of this game is designed around being able to identify your enemy type on sight: the similarity of silhouettes across a given armor class (ie, all medium armors on males are trench coats) , inability to equip “lesser” armors, having skills attached to your weapon, etc.

I feel for the lefty crowd in general, but this time I think it might fit with the design philosophy.
