Hello,

when does magic find effect chests?
At the moment when I pick them up or at the moment when I am opening them?
I am asking cause if it effects them when I pick them up I should habe a magic
find buff when I pick them up. When it effects them when I am opening them I
would collect the chests, get a magic find buff later and open them.

Magic Find doesn’t actually affect chests. It only affects the random drops you get from defeating enemies.

Never it only has an effect on drops .

im getting sick that they nerf EVERYTHING that would reduc the amount of grind for things.

Indeed it doesnt,Sometimes i wondering why i am upping my mf,normal drops are alway’s blue’s or greens ya get,even when the mob drop a chest(i heard a while ago that the loot in chest’s from mob’s was going to be a guaranteed rare or exotic)wel it isn’t they containing also blue and green salvage junk.

We need better reward’s from actualy playing the game(outside gemstufffluf)

You clearly haven’t played since the beta, right? Because it was affecting chests back then, maybe a while after a release (not sure about that), then it was changed to the state of drop-effect. And after that it was reworked to the actual state of account-wide bonus.

I played since BWE1, but I didn’t pay much attention to MF back then, so I might have missed that indeed.

I’m pretty sure it never affected chests after release though.

Like I said, I’m not sure about the state after release, but the original intention to affect chests was there, it’s a pity that it was removed. Glory to the RNG

Normal drops are white, every blue/green/rare/exotic item that you get from a drop is a result of magic find and/or just being plain lucky. So naturally as your magic find increases, so does the number of blues and greens that you get.

Static chests in the game (jumping puzzles, dungeons, mini-dungeons, event completions) are not affected by magic find. The small wooden or steel chests that appear after killing an enemy is a drop that contains a rare or exotic item.

MF affect if you gonna have a white, blue, green, rare (not sure if rare box exist??), or exotic box. But after that each box gonna have its own loot table and won’t be affected by your MF. Its the same thing with all bags and box that you can pick up. Of course, if you are farming FGS you already have a really low risk of having a box other than exotic, but it can happen. Got some green champion bags myself.

How are the 300% guys gettin’ on? Not seen much info’ on ‘luck with’ drops and rate etc.

I’m only at 107% at the moment but I definitely get more yellow drops than I used to.

Getting to around 100% made a noticeable difference but more doesn’t seem to have made much difference.

Oh huh….during the Southsun and Pavilion events I thought I could tell the difference between various levels of MF. The +250% from the Southsun event definitely made a big difference with how many rare’s/exo’s that dropped.
