I’ve got a few friends I’ve convinced to buy the game in the last few days, but they’ve run into the issue that my server is full. At the moment, they’ve just joined another server, but that just means we don’t get to play together. I’ve noticed that server populations do fluctuate, such that there are times when my server isn’t listed as full. In theory, they just need to be able to catch my server at a time when they can move to it. I’m just wondering if there’s any news on when it will begin costing gems to switch servers so we don’t get stuck with bad luck for waiting too long. Thanks!

In theory, we’ll get cross-server guesting available at some point, too.

That’s the real question that goes along with this thread title.

When does free server transfers end = paid server transfers start = server guesting starts.

Until then, tell your friends to try and schedule a transfer during the off-peak hours for your server and maybe they’ll get on.

And this is why free server transfers are adding to the problem rather than solving it. If we could freely guest over to other servers than we could play with our friends at will regardless which world we choose to fight for in the mists.

Yes, the presence of guesting would indeed fix the problem nicely, although we do still maintain hopes of all running in WvW as a guild someday in the future. I just don’t want them to be penalized and have to pay more money just for picking up the game later than I did.
