When does the Mule race come out?
Everything Purple
A donkey and a horse, that’s all you need
On hiatus from GW2 since mid-July 2013
There is no mules in Tyria. If you look at the wiki a mule is just a character that you use to store stuff on, and has nothing to do with lore.
Closest thing would be a dolyak.
hum.. are you sure you’re not just totally misinterpreting the usage of the word “mule”?
in the context of gw1 and MMOs in general, it refers to alternate characters used mostly as extra storage.
there were no mules/donkeys/horses type animals in gw1
Northern Shiverpeaks
I keep hearing about Mules and how they were a big part of Guild Wars 1. I was just wondering what happened to this race and when we will get to see them in Guild Wars 2.
Similarly to how NCSoft thought Canthan content would culturally offend Asiatic players, it was decided that the donkey players who are eternally chasing a carrot stuck in front of their faces would feel offended by the mule race.
Be happy the Skritt were allowed in the game, I’m sure NCSoft is still scared of the Skinner rats making a revolt due to the portrait of mice in game. Not that they would leave their littles levers enough to notice it, though…
treadmill, of being in that obvious pattern of every time I catch up you are going to

So why do people keep saying they made Mules? To my knowledge there were yaks in Guild Wars 1. If it was just someone to store things on why not just say “I made a yak”. I just want to know some simple background lore…

Because they made an alt character for the sole purpose of storing items on. The term mule is used because it is a real world beast of burden.
You can make a “Mule” in any game where bank storage is not shared by your alts.
Mules in GW1 were deliberately made to hold stuff. Your default vault in GW1 is pretty big, and the inventory is decent too once you get the stock bags, more if you’re willing to grind for it. You can do the same type of thing in GW2, but it’s less necessary since you can buy more vault slots and inventory slots.. although I suppose people will tend to mule it up more as they release more unique event stuff

So your telling me there is no new Mule race to look forward to?

So your telling me there is no new Mule race to look forward to?
Correct. Mules in GW1 were merely human characters that people made for the sole purpose of storing items on AKA an alt.
is this serious? because it is also funny

So to make a Mule it has to be a human? Is it like some transformation skill or something?

If you go to Tarnished Coast, you can roleplay as a mule with whatever you like.

To be honest I am on TC and I am pretty sure he is too.
About a year after the horse and donkey races come out.

A hard core RPGer doesn’t know what a mule is? Joke topic, move along.
Lol ….. I agree Dresden … he’s got to be kidding right. Since we’re here for a good laugh I know you’ll get a chuckle from this story. I had never played any online games; so I didn’t know all the terminology. I heard people talking about “farming” in Tyria, and I thought, “Wow, farms. Can’t wait to get there and build one for myself.” Well, when I went over the Shiverpeaks and looked around, I saw no player farms. After paying closer attention to chat, I realized what they meant. It was my first introduction to the concept of farming in an online game. I sure know what it means now. I’ve done it enough times. =)
lol Rosen.
You can go to Queensdale for your farming needs. Though you will just be a hand in the farm as opposed to an owner.

funny thing is I had an experience like that but it was backwards. I thought it would be a good place to make money but nooo it was player housing (different game)

My poor Necro mule… It’s bad enough I shelved him after L20. Now he has to carry all that stuff in his bags and people want to claim he doesn’t exist. No wonder he has self-esteem issues.
Asura mules take up less space and are just as hardy!
I wonder what your basis for comparison is…”

I had two Canthan mules before. I demand Cantha so I can make new ones!
