The new gear tier does not promote build diversity. This is a major problem for me in WvW since I only have time for a single set of ascended gear, and I don’t play condition warrior anymore since the introduction of ascended gear. Please explain how you intend to fix this issue in the future. I do not believe acquiring them through guild commendations, etc., is the answer. Please make it even more accessible to promote build diversity. Maybe crafting?

First of all… what makes you think you NEED this to be “competitive” in WvW?

You mean “When it’s Ready”™

i heard from my dog the other day the precursor scavenger hunt wasnt going in til they make the home district be something real and guild hall are real then we can wory about ascended armor probably when its ready which im beginning to think means we arent working on it so dont get kittened of about it

You know what’s ironic, not being able to get fractals items from fractals… (accessories and amulets.)

Well, OP has a point. I think certain combinations aren’t available from ascended gear?

And there should be more ways to get earrings. Maybe earrings for badges? Or allow them to be in fractals? Or do we just want people leeching off large guilds?

I think part of the reason why they are testing out this hole quartz thing is to put systems in place to allow crafting of ascended items.

Alright..My first thought- “They already are.” I mean okay not the accessories and stuff, but before ascended amulets and earrings even existed, there were ascended backpieces, which the only way to obtain them is through crafting..(Or well, forging. But it’s kinda the same deal.)

Also I’m pretty sure you CAN buy ascended accessories with badges +laurels in wvw, can’t you?

That is definitely not the same deal. And the only way to get them is through fractals still.

Earrings? Nope, they are available on vendors, but their price is the same as on the PvE laurel vendors (45 laurels + 50 ectos).

Right. But I think you’re missing the point. They are not easily obtainable. I prefer to spend time playing the game, not worrying about how I’ll need to get more ascended gear to play other builds. It simply takes too long and is time consuming. Laurels, badges, etc., it’s not the solution. (Yes, I have 2000 badges, but it’s STILL NOT the solution)

It would be nice to get a response from a forum moderator…

EDIT: When Ascended Gear was released, I quit the game for almost 2 months. I finally returned but refused to get the new tier. June… I finally went through with it. Why is this important? If Anet continues to make new tiers, at least this way I can craft my way through and it won’t be as time consuming in general (hopefully costs are balanced). But, of course, I’d rather never see another piece of Ascended Gear ever again, but they want to please everyone… sadface.
