When will we get permanent content?
You already have permanent content.
Just thought I’d ask.
#15chars.
As we’ve said before, the releases this month include content that will remain permanently in the game (not all will, but some), as will other Living World releases in the future. Some events and content from the past will also re-appear in the future, some will return for relevant holidays/festivities, and other for special events or even permanently added to new locations.
(Edited to add more details) #More than 15 characters.

So…are we talking an actual activity to keep us interested? Or another NPC who’s still collecting the equivilent of Sonic Periscope Parts?

Hi Colin,
As long as there’s a mixture, I think that’s the important thing. One of the potential issues with doing too much temporary content relative to permanent content is that over time players who quit will return and see that the game hasn’t changed that much, which will dissuade them from continuing to play.
I think it’s important for the longevity of the game that there’s a steady growth of permanent, fixed content to go along with ‘living world’ content.
I will add one plus for the temporary content. So many people flooded the area, that’s it’s been great for teaming/community spirit and getting challenging content done. If much of this became permanent, we’d have another Orr on our hands 6months down the line.

We agree, a proper mix of everything is what we’d like to be doing as well. =)

That means we get to do Fractals 50+ sometime soon, right? RIGHT?
Thank you for clarification on Anet’s stance on content additions, Colin. It is much appreciated.

Can I guess @:
Temporary content=Monthly + Annual Replayability
Permanent content= Leftovers from Temp content + Trickle in effect
Expansion= Lumped content/fixes/huge patch around once a year or 6 months~8 Months
Is that close to the philosophy? :P
Oh, and don’t think we forgot about those tinfoil hats…..

The Anet philosophy that has been show so far for the most part is good. I like how again for the most part things are progressing since the game is only 10 month old.
I do feel there is a need to inspire the player base to be more community oriented and less instances and guild focused.
One of the biggest selling points to me was the promise of community. To me that is lacking and is more important then permanent content.
I must also state. Again this game is only 10 months old. Compared to other games out there that were in worse shape then Guild Wars 2 is on their ten month anniversary. So stop begging for more content when the content that is in the game has not fully been played. (here is where Colin jumps in to confirm this last sentence, but I will not hold my breath).
p.s. 30+ characters
I just wish the Molten Alliance Mining Pick were permanent. I bought 2 then, I deleted one character and get bored of the other one so now I have 2 useless MAMP and no way to get another one for my new main

It seems intuitive to me that anything that’s only temporarily available should be account bound.

Even permanent content should be AB but well, maybe someday Anet will release one pack with the three gathering tools (I don’t care the effect, just the utility) or maybe some kind of item to transmute SB items into AB.

4 months of living story and 1 easy dungeon with a decent boss fight is starting to get a bit boring. Any chance we can see a bit more challenging content soon, say maybe a 8 to 10 man raid?
