Where are Fractal Rewards?
Seriously? I’ve opened all of my fractal boxes and have gotten a number of Ascended rings, and one item that I was able to sell for 10g.

Fractal rewards are all locked behind the RNG of fractal encryption boxes.
Unless you have good luck, don’t bother wasting your gold opening them.
Every daily I get keys and I open the boxes and sell the remainder. I get the same 3 rings with bad stats and some junk that sells at maybe a max of 50s at a merchant.
Are you telling me the fancy rewards that were supposed to convince me that fractals are the moneymaker are RNG based because I’ll lose a hell of a lot more money on that return if that’s what I’m looking for.
Ascended rings are considered trash to any veteran fractal player.
Gold generation from boxes is pure crap, it is more worth to sell them to tp (if prices don’t go down).
Soon we will get more data about chests drop rate so we can compare that to before hot. Before hot we had around 25% chance of dropping an ascended chest/skin/tonic/anything but ring, on level 50. I am sure that now it isn’t even 5%.
Just need the data to prove that.

And I tried opening my boxes and lost money…. didn’t even make back my key cost. So do you have the “mastery”? Perhaps your odds are better that way. MF might come into it as well.
From what we know, we get approx 28.5 silvers of profit (after tp tax) from box these days (this change since Tier 5 and Agony +1 change price over times). It cost 9 silver per key if you salvage ascended rings and 12 silver per key if you buy matrix on the TP. My conclusion is that it,s worth to open the box if you have rings to salvage and want more +1 to get higher AR. Otherwise, you are better to sell them.
The new reward system is unintuitive, but the gold reward is there. Sell or open the box, they still give you 20-22 silver of profit each on average (not counting zoija recipe). Even from someone without HoT, doing 3 fractal will give you 9 box for around 1.7 to 2 gold of profit. And that’s not counting what you receive from the daily in a time shorter to do than a level 50 used to take. So yep, it’s weird, it feel less rewarding, but we do get more gold for our time in fractal with the new system.
That said. The numbers from KINGS seem to indicate that we do get less Ascended boxes and Fractal Skins now than we used to.

If you buy key directly from the golem and lost money opening the box, you only have yourself to blame. NEVER BUY KEY DIRECTLY.

As far as I know, you can’t even get ascended equipments from the fractal encryption boxes. You’re probably confusing that w/ the chests. I opened over 5000 and haven’t seen one.
The keys required to open those boxes are expensive to buy as well… so there’s like minimal profit from opening encryption boxes. It’s better to sell them off.
What happened to bonus chest rewards for fractals? I enjoyed doing fracs because it’s fun to get the daily bonus chest at the end. I got to frac 100, and I barely play fracs any more because there’s no incentive to do it (and the higher fracs bosses have too much HP that yield similar rewards to lower fracs).
I feel like anet never rewards people who do challenging content; you get the same junk for doing challenging things to doing easy things.

I suppose that’s possible but I could have sworn it was an encryption box. I do also have fractal masteries. I will concede that I’m not 100% positive where I got the rings.
As someone who played FoTM very frequently pre-HoT, I find the new system as rewarding if not more rewarding than pre-HoT.
I think expectations were too high. Did people think running fractals would be the same g/hr as Silverwastes farming? Or speed clearing dungeons? I’m sure they balance things around normal speed players rather than min/maxers who could clear CoF in 8min.

So straight coin rewards have been replaced with a coin sink for keys to open RNG boxes, and if one gets lucky, one profits. Or, one sells these boxes, which is another coin sink. I can’t say I’m too surprised.

Whatever you open or sell the box. Each of them on average will give you between 19 and 22 silver of profit.

I got an ascended ring from the daily box for finishing 3 fractals. That’s where the rewards are.
I don’t see an achievement (and daily box) for 50+ fractals. What do I have to do to unlock this so I start getting a chance at fractal loots? Mastery Related? Finishing all 1-50 fractals related?
