Where are people farming for gold?
Fastest farming is with your credit card → buy gems → convert to gold.
Otherwise you’re just going to have to run around like a crazy person trying to catch events, complete dungeons and maybe, just maybe catch a sweet drop you can sell.
Good luck!
If you’re level 80, go do the champ train in Forstgorge Sound. It’s much better $$ for your time than Queensdale, with a lot less whining. Quick dungeon paths are good too. Orr is bad and not worth anyone’s time.

Sorry… I thought the title was “Why do people farm for gold.”
The “public” answer to the OP is: champ farm or dungeons.
There are some very good (non-exploit) farming locations, but people have become afraid to disclose them because they always get nerfed into oblivion once revealed.

I’m surprised no one is dissing farming yet. The common player here doesn’t understand that purposive activity in a game is not problem behavior.
I’d tell you how I make my gold but I’m scared anet will nerf it. Has happened before.

Some people enjoy farming. It doesn’t hurt any one, so why is it a problem?

Actively making an effort to be intentionally inefficient is problem behavior though.

You mean like a ranger knocking a target around the battlefield so that no one can touch it?
Grab some friends and run HotW 1, CoF 1+2 and Ascalon 1+3. Its 7 Gold in less than 2h, also you can use the tokens to buy goldies and exotics.
Sorrow’s Embrace P1 is the most lucrative dungeon path. You’ll get at least 5 champ boxes and 1G in 15-20 mins, and it’s faceroll easy. CoF’s good too.
at work. or at the tp.

that’s because by now everyone understood that you can’t play the story 15 times and afford stuff that you want and actually need to farm like hell for even mid-tier rarity items.

I don’t have a problem with people farming, just with arenanet making it so you have to farm to remain on even ground.
Ascended gear is hardly “even ground”, and laurels provide progression away from money for a total of 5 ascended pieces.
Farming is how humans got from primitive hunter-gatherers to Facebook. Don’t diss hard repetitive work. Also dungeons. Do those.

Depends… From a casual gamer’s perspective, (me) it’s grindy enough to make it a grind. I play once a week 2-6 hours because of work and other commitments, I’ll let you do the math on how long it will take to gear up at that rate.

Why are only rangers blamed for this? Engi’s and other classes have knockbacks too….

Not quite. Once disclosed and EVERYONE goes to use it THEN it gets nerfed into oblivion. A few people, doesn’t blip on the radar. Lots of people, a spike occurs and that’s what calls the nerf police.
