Where are the capes?
I hear that Batman and Superman started fighting over them all and they were destroyed in the process.
They just clip too badly for Anet to handle, so we get sloths instead.
There’s clipping with other things, even armor parts of the same set that even clip with one another. So it’s not like capes would make anything much worse. You even have characters that clip and get stuck in the maps, and everyone’s getting worried about something small like capes clipping.
There’s so much money to be made with capes, you see all the people asking for capes and offering $ for ‘em, but nope. Our money’s no good apparently.
Maybe they should look at these capes like cultural armor and have somthing for diffrent races like:
Human – Capes
Norn – animal pelt capes
Charr – Horns accessories
Asura – Ear accessories
Plant people – giant leaf capes
Just some ideas from the top of my head if anyone would like at add or suggest anything better.
They could be bundled together on the gem store like how the wedding attire is 10 unique designs for each race and gender.
Capes are stupid.
They also wouldn’t be out of place since they were in fashion in 16th century Europe. With a new API like Vulcan I can see it being possible without causing serious performance issues. In DirectX9 however capes without clipping could be quite taxing due to the tessellation.
Guild capes were one of the best features of GW1
They hardly add capes to gw2, due lack of mechanics to it, and if colision detecting system is neede for capes and character… prepare for lesser players per shard…
Don’t really care about capes but I wish there were more short jackets instead of trenchcoats for medium classes and plain pants for light armor females. At the moment we only have skirts and really weird pants/dress combos that seem like they couldn’t decide which one to go for so they made a hybrid just in case.
They’re in GW1. Enjoy!
We have plenty of capes already. They start from the bottom of your character’s waistline and go all the way down to your feet. So many buttcapes to choose from!
But seriously, I can’t see capes being easy to design with the way armor is made in this game. I don’t think that they will ever be introduce in GW2.
Capes are stupid.
Cloaks are not stupid in fantasy at all, cloaks are very natural in a universe like guild wars especially gw2 considering guild wars 1 made a huge deal out of them so you can represent your guild.
Char should get human skins as capes.

Sad but true.
Alot of weapons and armor clip badly in GW2 anyways, so GIVE US CAPES!!!!!
Hell. I will even buy them for 2000 gems!!!!

Capes are rotting in clipping hell. :P
Threads like these. I love them. You can tell the people who played the first game (Where are our capes?) versus those who migrated from other franchises (blah, blah, blah, no capes).
Personally, I’d love capes, and feel that Anet is letting us down by not having them.

This dude, for the win.
“Shh… here, have some more wings.”
- Anet
Blame the Charr, it would clip too much on them.

“Shh… here, have some more wings.”
- Anet
If the wings folded up like, you know, WINGS, I might display my hawk/white/black wings.
They’re still not capes.
(Vomits Guild Wars: Prophecies/Factions/Nightfall nostalgia all over the screen, because, seriously BEST GAME EVER!)
Blame the Charr, it would clip too much on them.
Down with the Charr! Remember Ascalon! Bring on the capes!
If they can sort out the clipping issues and make them look natural…especially on charr’s…then I think we should get them, but as they can’t… No ty.
RIP City of Heroes
They can make a cape on balthazar’s regalia outfit that looks great – yes also on charr. If they could incorporate something alike to that, it would be awesome.
