So i have been playing Gw2 since launch and i finally got my warrior to have the best weapons and gear(imo) but i feel like there is no end game nothing else to do after this.
Plus there is no point in having a guild. you dont have raids or any big dungeon to do with your guild.
I would like to do a 25-man raid with my guildies it would be so cool.
Plus isn’t the game called guild wars? where are the guild wars? i would like to have a full fledged fight against another guild.
Isn’t that the meaning of this name?

I think the end game of gw2 is pretty lazy and boring they need to add more guild activity thats the whole point of this game its about guilds
Regardless of the name it would be pretty cool if a guild could challenge another guild to a Battle Ofc limit numbers and such, would be silly if a 100 man guild challenged a 50 man one, numbers would need to be specific
Right here is a smart man this is one of the best things they can do to make the game more fun and have more objectives after you finished getting geared up

world bosses are going on a once every 8 hour spawn, but guild leaders can purchase an item to activate the bosses/events at any time, allowing guild wide challenges to be planned like current rushes etc.

I’m sick of us getting more and more guild vs. environment abilities. I want competition with other guilds to be the CENTRAL focus of guilds in this game and right now we have practically nothing.

We all agree that they should be doing this, but they haven’t and they haven’t said they will so its up to the community. They are too focused on reviving the dead sPvP and trying to make it into an eSport where GvG is a x10 better and more watched thing.

Let’s say I am one of those programmers from the community with a suggestion you like for example ‘I wanna make GvG in Guild Wars 2!’. Now you are the chief of Anet employes and you notice my post and say ‘Hey you wanna come work for us!?’. You kick sime programmers and you hire me and I make GvG a reality but no sPvP fixes. Then a mounth later or even less on the sPvP forums we can read ‘so basicaly Anet should hire people from the community and kick those crappy Anet employes?Cuz i am not seeing any improvement from Anet in this game’.

Back in my day, guilds would claim keeps and actually defend them. Over time, guilds would get to know each other and rivalries would be created, causing a war between guilds in open world PvP. If the guild wanted to do something smaller and more fair, they would queue together and do PvP matches.
Just because there isn’t a “queue for GvG” option doesn’t mean there isn’t guild wars. If you want a war, create one.

Guilds are actually one of the worst implemented mechanics in this game. Essentially being a huge grind for influence and mediocre benefits.
It is definitely not about guilds. I wish it was.

what you wrote doesn’t mean this game can’t or is not allowed to have actual guild pvp. get lost already.
It is not a argument it is a fact. People ask “it is Guild Wars after all” the poster that post that are simply saying this is why it was named Guild Wars not for a playstyle.
If sPvP ever does get a healthy stable population they may create GvG.

Exactly! Guild Wars name comes from the fact, in Lore, guilds fought guilds in a war. Nothing more, nothing less. Having GvG in GW1, was not the reason for the name.
Maybe they are waiting until the Ring of Fire Island is released for doing Guild Halls and GvG. After all, where the guild halls are located in GW1, is now Orr.
There is a great place to GvG in obsidian sanctum…….. it looks like a stadium with seats…. it can be easily found by going down the ramp on the left side of the beginning.
There is nothing there but flat ground and stadium seats surrounding the arena.
Tequatl, 3 headed Worms are raids and being in a guild helps there.
Bigger guilds that are half, or purely WvW organize WvW raids that can be fun too.
Other than that a guild provides someone to chat to, someone to run dungeons and fractals with. I much prefer guild dungeon and fractal runs, because unlike the pug level it never gets worse or better, you know what kind of skill level you can expect from those people, you know what kind of mistakes they’ll make, so you can just relax and kitten with them
I’ve been over this topic a dozen times and I still think the name is misleading. Yes I know Guild Wars were an event in Tyria’s history, but you can’t name a place Burger King, sell only salad and say Burgers were once upon a time on the menu.
That’s misleading and I believe misleading product names are on the fringe of being illegal in most countries.
When you think about it, it’s a strange thing to have named it. Just because something happened in the distant past doesn’t mean that it’s sufficient to name a whole game after it. Lots of stuff happened in the past, some of it important. Why the guild wars in particular? Especially since it didn’t really have anything to do with the storyline of Guild Wars 1.
What I suspect happened is they were expecting the endgame for the original game to be PvP, especially G vs G battles. If they were expecting that then naming the first game Guild Wars makes sense. When it didn’t work out that way they kept the name for the second game since it had recognition value even though it doesn’t fit the game.
At OP, you ought knowing the one and only place for the real-deal gvg is GW.
Also, lol at anyone who geniunely believes guilds account for anything on GW2.
