So now that the Chinese version of the game is launched, where is GW2 headed? We have heard nothing about the future of GW2 since the start of 2014/ end of season 1 of the LS.

-We have had no roadmap for 2014 (which is almost half way over)
-We have had no update on when/if Season 2 of the LS is happening
-We have had no mention of an expansion
-We have had no mention of the next “feature patch”

Is that it for GW2? Has Anet’s resources been reallocated to other projects? 3 months and not a peep from Anet about anything. The only thing we have gotten was the surprise return of the four winds festival, which was mostly just for the Chinese release to catch them up.

We’ve heard that the Chinese and US/EU versions of GW2 will be receiving concurrent updates, so can players expect a break in between Festival of the Four Winds and the start of season two to let the Chinese community members get their feet under them?

Zadorojny: The big thing about this festival is that we wanted to really make it feel like it was a huge welcoming celebration but at the same time that it was something that existing Guild Wars 2 players could come back and take the time to enjoy. It’s a chance for everyone to come together and celebrate before we launch into the start of Season 2. Don’t worry; by the end of the festival, you’ll hear more about Season 2.

Waller: Our focus right now is having a great release with Festival of the Four Winds, and hopefully people will enjoy both the Labyrinthine Cliffs and the Queen’s Pavilion. While they’re enjoying that, they should know that before the release is over there will be more information that will make it clear about what’s coming. As a fun note, players who have been carefully watching the progress of the “Festival of the Four Winds” release will be able to find hints that might tease at living world season 2.

Honestly? I’m holding out hope for a surprise in the next 2-3 weeks. If not a surprise content drop, a surprise announcement.

I could be wrong, but I’d bet ArenaNet has a huge amount of content built and waiting for the opportune moment.

Something like this?
http://youtu.be/iHxpqebW3qU

Thing’s that are bugging me:

- Dev Transparency, there’s too much silence all of a sudden, we’re basically being told nothing now
- No Precursor crafting, this should of been higher priority its basically the only endgame for some of us
- To many gemstore skins vs. in-game skin, the ratio is out of whack, it would of made sense in vertical progression system, but if the game is purely about obtaining cosmestics, where are all the skins we can EARN
- Not enough skill vs. reward vs. time content

The developers are heads-down working on the future content releases. We are also in the middle of launching the game in China. Launching a game in a new country is kind of a big deal. Because of the team’s focus on game development, they are not able to dedicate as much time out of their workday to posting on the forums. While they might have time to read the forums, they don’t necessarily have time to engage in discussion.

I know it’s hard to be patient in this down time between Living World seasons, but please bear with us. As much as you’re craving new content to play, the team is dying for you to play it.

Unfortunately, I can’t give you any information about future content, whether it’s plot spoilers or timeline. I can say that, as a player, I am very excited about the next season, and I cannot wait to see what you all think about it.

Please know that your feedback continues to be important, our devs are still reading (though they may not have time to respond), and we sincerely appreciate your support and you sharing all your thoughts with us (critical or otherwise).

A lot of people made an assumption for going up in then Magumma region, but yesterday while I was checking out the festival of four winds, I heard a very interesting conversation about Kralkatorx.

Maybe Crystal Desert? There is a door way there also at Ebon Hawk.

were headed to nowhere. all they care about is the gemstore now. that is obvious.

Actually, there has been mention of an expansion (or rather, “expansion-like content”), and as far as I can tell, LS Season 2 is going to be about Mordremoth.

And the next feature patch is going to be Anet nerfing whatever new thing players figured out you could do that they don’t like, in addition to some new feature that’s cool on paper but causes all sorts of problems they didn’t anticipate.

A lot of people made an assumption for going up in then Magumma region, but yesterday while I was checking out the festival of four winds, I heard a very interesting conversation about Kralkatorx.

Maybe Crystal Desert? There is a door way there also at Ebon Hawk.

People are saying that because Scarlet woke up Mordremoth, the dragon residing in the jungle. So it’s a pretty good bet that we’re going to have to deal with that really soon.

Mordremoth is in the Maguuma Jungle (most likely)
Kralkatorrik is in Crystal Desert
Jormag is in Northern/Far Shiverpeaks
Deep Sea Dragon is deep(sic) in the Unending Ocean
Primordius is below ground somewhere, maybe around the Deldrimor Front area on map??

In most likelihood we’ll explore Maguuma Jungle first seeing as Destiny’s Edge 2.0 are talking about that and also the Seraph are sending parties to investigate the Black Market traders and bandits holed up in Brisban Wildlands.

If Mordremoth comes as LS2, Anet ought to line up an expansion into another area for 2015. The game is perceived as stagnated right now, yes, we do get you’re busy with China-release and heads down in content development, but surely you have marketing and PR people not deep down in coding. Embrace your player base in NA/EU who are very much on life support in terms of 2014/15 roadmap, I assure you, you most definitely would not want to be without us…

…but that sword is double-edged, I don’t want to lose faith in GW2 either. I need news of exciting expansions and projects to keep my interest up and see the future of this game.

Regardless of what happens (or doesn’t happen), methinks the only guarantee is repeatedly broken Mesmer skills from here on out.

Predictions:

Players will only be able to access one dungeon path per Jupiter passing the seventh house, though they will receive a “bonus” of 20s per completion. As a special consideration for this change, however, players will be able to swap between crafting professions at no cost.

Ascended fractal drop rates will be increased by about 0.000001%.

All champions in open world will be turned into elites.

Adding to the sense of “progression”, weapon skills must be earned by completing certain tasks or feats. For example, earning Necro Axe #3 will require finishing Victory or Death; Warrior Mace #5 will require mapping EB; etc. Players can opt out of this system by spending gold and skill points at a rate of 10g and 50 skill points per skill.

Karma gains from EOTM will be completely annihilated.
