I recently came back to the game after a short brake. Was going to finish my legendary, with just one thing needed, obsidian shards. I can’t possible make enough karma to actually finish my legendary in any time soon. I have around 2-4h of game time every day. On that time I can make around 3k karma. I rembered that karma was relative easy to get. But now….are they even taking us non hardcore people into consideration when changing stuff like this?

I might be able to get my legendary sword done in 2015 with this nerf…thank you for kittening stuff up once again. Atleast make them buyable for gold or something.

what nerf are you talking about? I am half way on my legendary.

Lots of people thought it was too easy. So the messed it up. Then to get event brought out ascended lol but I’m in your boat, if I don’t grins karma every night I can’t finish my weapon.

They seem to be adding more ways to get Obsidian Shards. You can now – at least temporarily – buy them using Found Belongings.

The karma nerf was done as their weren’t enough karma sinks for the sheer amount of karma many players had. They had 2 solutions – add more karma sinks, or reduce the amount of karma earned and try and encourage players to particpate in more events in the open world. The idea was sound, but at a guess it didn’t force enough people in open world events.

I appreciate this doesn’t help you with your problem however. The good news, is that for the next 2 weeks, you can earn obsidian shards at a pretty decent rate via the LA event. There is a trader in the outlying camps will who give you shards in place of tokens you find in the city.

Why do they need to nerf with 90% or just make it to easy. Can’t you do something in between?

I can make around 10-15 shards a week. I need over 400…how is this a decent rate?

Have you looked into the other methods of Shard gain? eg fractals, the LA event?

go wvw, yesterday i got ~80k karma in 5 hours with karma booster and guild banners.

The 90% is shown well in aa post in the other karma thread still on main page.

LA event is able the same right now. Probably more reliable than WvW.
