Where did the mobile app go?

Upon release and in beta there was talks about a mobile app for gw2 so that you could enjoy the game on the run and keep in touch with your friends and guildies.

As title says, what happened with this idea? It’s been over 2 years now since release.

And before you mention the API, it does not do anything actually in game though someone’s account.

Never happened and I believe they did address this here and I think on some social media posts. Not gonna happen at this point.

I always thought they intended to leave that to 3rd parties to develop.

Keep in mind that the new API does actually count. It allows developers to be granted permissions to certain aspects of your specific account. So there have been some new apps by third party developers that can read your inventory and your trading post history.
