Guild Wars 2

Since the recent LS update, I wanted to check the atlas if anything new was added, but it has been completely removed. First the link on the homepage and some days later the site was also gone.

Did they say anything about it or are they trying to remove it without anyone noticing it?

Maybe they are going to add it in-game like was suggested.

A better question might be:

What did the Atlas do?

This would be awesome. However what I’m thinking is that with the change to permanent LW content, and because this was at most a side project from the beginning it probably didn’t have much support this no longer became important. ANet wasn’t updating it, adding it in-game would still mean it an in-game feature that won’t be updated.
Hopefully I’m wrong.

It disappeared to the void with the fractal leaderboards. Atlas never really felt useful to be honest, it was pretty annoying to have to click on every possible pixel to find the info, instead of it being shown to you by default.

I don’t see any release notes or news from the devs about it.
So I guess they did a ninja pull on it and will address the situation later. assuming it needs to be addressed at all.

My point being the atlas was probably an experiment.
Much like the other attempts they made to bring up the excitement for the Living Story, some stuff just stops working.

I’m not sure if they’ll bring it back or not, especially since Season Two has some form of built in recap on episodes. That was basically what the atlas tried to do and failed at IMO.
