Where is every one in desolation?
So, are you feeling the connection with the server name?
So, are you feeling the connection with the server name?
Yes….lol.
I really can’t find people to do content with and beat champions.
Impossible solo and feels very lonely.
They are all in LA probably.
It says on the server tab that desolation is very high population server.
Based on what?
i don’t see any one…rarely the odd level 80 running through for unlocks and that’s it.
Is it worth retuning to this game at all at this point?
I am probably in another game except when doing the daily.
Sounds like that anet should merge some servers.
Seafarer’s Rest EotM grinch

lol, merge Desolation? Funny guy.
Never had problems when ive levelled up, got 7 level 80’s and always seen people around
Asura – Desolation
Lions arch, Queensdale, WvW, Sparkfly Fen. just a few i can name off the top of my head. Farming has taken its hold ;3
Desolation is most populated server on EU,even people from other servers guest there every day.Problem is that this game focus is on lvl 80 content and there is no reason to be anywhere on the map except LA.Yes even before we had this new LA LS people whould just sit in LA doing nothing.
Such a waste.
Will seems that i can’t do anything about it then.
Time to look into other games.
In fairness – This is common in all games.
Also, Quite frankly you can solo your way up to 80 with absolutely no problem in this game.
Add into that fact that there are still tons of events that you can do at low levels that people still do.
Amazing you are having issues leveling as this is the easiest leveling experience of any mmorpg.

IMO it’s based on accounts created there and NOT active accounts.
Mud Bone – Sylvari Ranger
You should even be able to solo many group events. Guilds aren’t a requirement and I never did this, but many people look to join one to have people to party up with and do map completion together. It’s easy enough to find active guilds with friendly people.
I personally just solo my way to 80 and have been fine doing that.
Try Aurora Glade, I always see people on that server. P:
Desolation is the server with the largest PVE population in EU. Dont leave it if you like PVE.
lol, I will ignore the fact that I suspect you are a troll from your attitude but gl finding an MMO with highly-populated early zones, 1 year after-release.

You make it sound like it’s a hard thing to do.

it is not hard, sorry. There is none.

GW2 is unique when it comes to early zones.
Here we have no tanks nor healers which make it if you get hit twice in a fight against a champion you die…there is no one to take damage for you so a large group to take down champions is a must at lower levels.
Also i’m not trolling i’m asking and every one here was polite enough to give an answer….if i could negative rep you i would for such a trollish answer.
Desolation is one of the most highly populated EU servers, and one many people from other servers will guest to in order to do content that needs big groups.
The problem is that there’s currently a Living Story event running in Lion’s Arch which upscales players to level 80 (meaning anyone at any level can play it) and which gives quite a few good rewards. Which means pretty much everyone is in LA or Gendarren Fields (where the main city functions have been relocated, and right next to LA).
But that’s going to end on Tuesday. At the moment no one knows exactly what will come after it, other than it’s the aftermath of the attack and the epilogue to the whole Living Story. It might focus everyone in another single zone, it might encourage people to go to many different locations or it might only hold players attention for a few hours/days and then they’ll go back to playing normally, which means being more spread out around the maps. (Although it’s never going to be a perfectly even spread, there are always some maps which are more popular than others.)
As for doing content without a traditional ‘holy trinity’ group it can be done. Except for anything labelled [Group Event] and certain champions anything at low levels can be completely solo.
It just requires a different play style. You can’t just stand there cycling through your attacks and relying on someone else taking the damage and a 3rd person healing you both, even if you are in a group.
Mostly what you need to do is move and especially dodge to avoid attacks. If you’re standing in a red circle or you see a projectile flying towards you then you need to move aside. If you’re fighting a boss and see them winding up a big attack wait until they stop (and are about to unleash it) and then hit your dodge button. It takes some practice but it’s an extremely useful skill to have.
You also need to make sure you’re making good use of your heal skill and other support skills like condition removal. At level 20 your options are a bit limited, but that just means it’s even more important to use what you do have.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”

From your posts I can tell you’ve been moving around a zone and found loads of champion mobs / group events just waiting there and nobody doing them. From that you concluded that there are population issues on your server, this isn’t always true.
Champion mobs (and lots of Group Events) in loads of zones are neglected by the players because they are not really worth killing/doing.
Group Events that are part of big event chains that lead to World Bosses are regularly done on lots of servers. Obviously the World Bosses themselves usually have loads of people fighting them as well.
Group Events that are in Frostgorge and/or Queensdale are regularly done because there is the so called “Champion train” there, players moving around in large groups killing all Champions they find
Group Events that appear in areas altered by the Living Story, especially if they have active Achievements (daily or LS) or unique drops, are also being done on lots of servers.
Every event that does not belong to the above categories has a very high chance of being neglected. Apparently, players prefer not to group to do these and instead complete easier events, gather materials, do exploration, finish achievements and in general continue with their every day gaming life in Guild Wars 2. This doesn’t mean that there is nobody around, it means that nobody wants to do those events, there is a difference here. Either use map chat to ask for help, if people want to join you in the fight, they can come and do the event together. An example is the Giant in Diessa Plateau, he is always neglected by most players, but sometimes someone might shout: “The Giant is active” and suddenly people from around the zone will port and kill him, then they will “disappear” and go back to what they were doing.
My suggestion to you, especially if you are a new (or returning) player, is to ask for some help in map chat for an event, if nobody comes just move on and do other events. It doesn’t mean that there is nobody around when you see Champions roaming freely.
Until Anet makes all Champions enticing for kills and rewards people who kill “neglected” Champions while giving next to no loot for Champions that are killed all the time, this problem will continue to exist. But as I said numerous times, doesn’t mean there is a population problem.
