So far all I see are fixes and arranging the deckchairs on the Titanic style updates to the core game and introduction of some really bad ideas like aoe nerfs and no ressing at wp in dungeons. But what about actual NEW content? When 40% of the map if not more has yet to be unveiled and practically zero end game, when will you be introducing some new maps, enemies, dungeons? When can we expect to go to Magumma or Crystal desert?

Fixing a broken game is not what I would describe “an expansions” worth of content, but simply patches. Where is the actual new stuff?

Content is just just story, maps and events. They have a lot of gear to release before the year is over, and they probably want to spread it out evenly, so everyone has enough time to gear up. I suggest keeping an eye out for any new gear additions, which will probably come as a reward for what you perceive to be valid new content.

There will be new content. New rewards and new events in the form of guild missions. New WvW abilities and rewards.

Supplementing the current game with a number of features will count as an expansion’s -worth- of content if there are going to be plenty. With the culling fix, guesting, achievement rewards, wvw progression, dungeon retuning, Orr retuning, guild events, further guild progression, custom arenas, leaderboards, that seems to be the case.

I’d rather have a reason to play the current game than forget it all in favor of new zones/dungeons.

How is retuning considered new content? While all these things apart from the aoe nerfs seem positive, for the PVE player there doesn’t seem to be much on the horizon at all. I could care less about W v W or pvp leaderboards which very much seems to the focus on these upcoming updates. I care about PVE, environments, lore, new enemies and exploring maps and dungeons. So far and correct me if I’m wrong, but there has been ZERO mention about any actual unseen new content in this style as of yet. Maybe they are saving the best till last Idk..but so far, I remain apathetic about what I’ve read.

Collin mentioned there will be no new zones a few weeks back. The livestream mentioned retuning Orr. Retuning the way Orr events play still consists of adding new elements. They’re also adding new DE’s in the form of guild missions. They also mentioned that the new achievements will be tied to new content in the form of (im assuming) dynamic events and other open world activities.

I don’t know, there’s no reason to play the open world game right now. “New” content or not, having a reason to go out in the open sounds good to me.

The kind of new content you want is the most expensive and difficult to create. Compared to how much of a resource hog new maps and voiced stories are, changes to the engine or the addition of new items to acquire for completing content already in the game are a bargain. I understand what you expect, and I’m not saying you shouldn’t want these things, but this kind of content is just not very economic when you can give players the same amount of replayability at only a fraction of the costs.

Well as far as maps go..I wouldn’t be suprised that they already have them done and will open them up as the year goes on and say “see look at all this new stuff you’re getting”…Well this is what I’m hoping because the world itself is not that large and a lot of those zones are already very stale…and launching new quests or de’s doesn’t really do anythign to change that. Don’t get me wrong, these are good things, but it’s bizarre how so much of the map remains closed off ….expecially as it was all opened up in GW1. I’m just suprised that there has not even been a minute squeak about what they plan to do with these maps.

There have been bits and pieces of information coming out, but nothing concrete, if that’s what you mean. We can obviously see from closed off portals that they plan on making the Crystal Desert and the Maguuma Wastes accessible.

Well this is the stuff that I’m interested in..not removing wp ressing for existing dungeon. I rather suspect I’m not alone in this.

Yea, whenever I open the world map. I am always thinking when will we be able to explore the unopened parts of the map. Also when will we face the other elder dragons other than Jormag in Frostgorge and Zhaitan in story quest.

Agreed. No new weapons/skill, dungeons, fractals… what exactly am i supposed to do after these patches come out? Nothing in them makes me hype their next big thing.

Fact: every Thief tells you to “l2p” when the subject is to nerf stealth.

I rather wait and see if they actually deliver on their promises. Lost Shores was hyped up and it was terribly laggy and grindy. It’s good in idea we should wait till thery release the new content to judge it.

To the post above me it’s Jormag champion we fight not the Elder Dragon himself.

Honestly I’m not expecting new areas quite so soon. Making them probably takes more time and resources than almost any other aspect of the game. Southsun Cove is the only new “full” area that has been released and most people really dislike it.

You don’t fight Jormag in Frostgorge Sound. You fight one of his lieutenants or champions or whatever.

Thats cos it feels terribly unfinished. You literally have NO reason to go there other than mining ori’s..What a wasted opportunity
