Where is the special merchant?
Its not there yet.

Anet really knows how to kitten me off. why announce in the patch notes that a vendor will be appearing and then not have that vendor! This kind of information is best left for facebook and twitter. if its in your patch notes. it kitten well better be in the update.
And I quote… “Rumors tell of a merchant interested in items from major events in Tyria’s recent history, including Blade Shards. Players are encouraged to hold on to these items if they are interested in trading with her when she appears.” Meaning she will be appearing, but hasn’t yet.

but again. you announce something in the notes, we expect it to appear. That quote belongs on facebook, twitter and these fourms. not the update notes

They put it into the patch notes. so people dont disgard their blade shards. Previously, people complained because info like this was not in the patch notes.

Unless I fall asleep in my IT classes, patch note is to describe something you updated on the program NOT something you going to do.
But thats why I love GW it always do some totally different from the establishment. :P
If it was placed on twitter or facebook, I guarantee many players would NOT hear about it, discard their blades, and then be royally kittened off. I don’t care that it’s in the patch notes, I’m just glad they told us, more importantly though, they should have told us about this 1-2 patches ago. Ive already destroyed over 2000 blades since I had nothing to do with them and my bank was getting full. If I had known there would be something to do with them I would have stashed them on alts.

I understand that but there needs to be a line in the sand where this becomes silly. Its No ones fault but the player if he can’t be bothered to check the fourms, and other hot spots. I’ll bet you anything we’ll still get a flood of complaints from people who couldn’t even be bothered to read the update notes and then anet will be forced to create an even more silly way of telling us.
Now its seems we can’t trust the information if the patch notes because it “may” happen in the update or in the future. Those notes are for current and immediate changes. Not an announcement board for rumors and future events.
The patch notes have always been hilarious in GW2. They leave out any and all dungeon changes, most balance changes and a host of other stealth “fixes”. The notes they do include are wrong half the time, and misleading the other half.
Basically this vendor was something that they hope to do in the future. It may be months before we actually see it.
Upcoming patch says lots of bug fixes and from experience that means dungeon tweaks. We will probably have the boulders already moving in cof1. They did do well by announcing the merchant. Not everyone checks Twitter or Facebook but a majority do read the release notes.

The patch notes is just simply the best place to put it. It’s on the front page, people tends to read them, and it avoids having a separate news article for ever little thing.
