yeah yeah I know “racial skills suck, subpar, yadda yadda.”

theoretically, I’m asking, which Classes best fit each Race’s skills, thematically and functionally. which Classes would (if all skills were completely equal) make the best use of a particular race’s race-exclusive skills?

this is more of a “just for fun” question, and not a PUG Meta question.

There is only one racial skill in the game that is worth taking. Leopard form. Necromancers gain the most from it because it gives them everything they lack to get away. Stealth and mobility.

Norn for leopard/bear form

Charr Battle roar.

Asura Radiation field can be usefull in some cases. Or even the D series Gollem,

Snow Leopard is pretty much the only useful racial I’ve found.

Well, until the recent trait changes:

Human Ranger for reliable Condition Removal that doesn’t kitten your self-healing (Prayer to Kormir)
Charr Ranger for Fury (Warcry).

But these are less useful now since the recent trait updates, since now Greatsword can be traited to give Fury on crits, and the one-hand Sword can get it from Warhorn anyhow, and now also Wilderness Survival skills can be traited to give both Fury and reliable Condition Removal on the same trait.

i think asura is the best for mesmer….

• Hidden Pistol, which is an attack and escape in one, tho abit slower one than Withdraw or Lightning Reflexes.
• Battle Roar, with boon durations, could mean additional Fury for 5 nearby allies.
• Shrapnel Mine, with condition dmg and duration builds, could be additional source of long duration bleeding and cripple, perhaps Engineers.

Asura

• Technobabble, instant daze skill for interuption, good for mesmers.
• Pain-inverter, use with melee hate builds.
• Radiation Field, more like another Corrosive Poison Cloud, if necromancer.

Charr engineer and charrzooka. Nuff said.

Asura Ranger have a good synergy with Technobabble and Moment of Clarity

EDIT: Signet of Beastmastery + Signet of the Wild → Bear Form = win IMO

Charr engineer and hidden pistol. The hidden pistol tool belt ability is deceptive if you just go by the description. Its a great way to drop an enemy real fast in surprise.

Engineers will always get two skills from racials. (Minus elites)

I’ve seen some norn guardians use the snow leopard to offset their poor mobility and escape with it in wvw.

Norn Wolf on my Mesmer. You should see the reaction of some players when I port them and become a wolf. They jump back and say something like wt.. Priceless!

With new trait changes, http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Poison_Master works well with Asura Ranger Radiation Field. It has good range despite its high CD.

Norn any zerk class is good against PVE mobs against a wall. Possibly Norn thief would possibly benefit the most because of low vitality and toughness and high damage kicks in after enemy has been reduced to 50%. Snow Leopard stealth also benefits from trait synergy in WvW.

Engineer is probably the best user of Racial skills. At least in PvE, cuz their elite sucks.

Norn is a good race for bear form, you get like a mini FGS on it.

Asura get an offensive Golem.

Artillery Barrage is like a kitten Meteor Shower with 8x the recharge time. You should pretty much never spend skill points on it.

Though, like Meteor Shower, if you cast it on a small amount of solid walkable terrain, all hits will land on that surface – like how Eles would cut their meteor shower possible landing in half by standing against the fence for the Queen’s Gauntlet to maximize damage. There’s very limited use of this technique though.
