main reason is because i had the ascended box drop for one and i don’t want to waste it. I’d like it to go to a character that would best be able to use it (if you have an idea for wep too please let me know)

I’m mainly in WvW if that matters as well.

I have an ele build which uses apothecary, although not a complete set. It wont be considered an optimal build and uses scepter/dagger, but im happy with it and it fits with how I play a mage class.

Practically factual. No “meta” WvW build, even those that are “healers” have Toughness & Condition Damage as their minors. Especially as the 2 “healers” (Guardian & Ele) are both lacking in Vitality departments.

There isn’t really anything.

In all areas of the game, damage skills deal more damage to others than healing skills heal damage to others, and healing slot skills have very high cooldowns compared to weapon skills even if the healing done is similar to the damage done.

In addition, stats related to damage scale those already superior skills much better than healing power scales healing skills.

It makes healing power very dangerous to work with because you’re sacrificing so much to be able to put it on. I’m not saying it can’t work if you have an extreme specialist build working in very tight coordination with some friends, but for general use? Absolutely not. Not without significant mechanics changes to the game itself.

Pick the skin you like the most. That’s about all you’re going to get out of it.

I would think about other Professions with more hit points, but if you are going “meta” on me, to each their own. I assume the WvW “meta” even precludes certain Professions from being any part of it.

At least some people could argue in favor of Apothecary builds for WvW, as far as I’ ve read on the forums.

My engi used to use my junk fractal loot apoth ascended rings in wvw, though I dunno if ascended weapons affect kits or not. You could always just use it for the nice skin and vendor it for a gold.

Apothecary rangers are really strong in wvw roaming. Either a beastmaster build or shout regen.
I also experimented with apothecary engineer build, which is viable, but it’s stronger on ranger.
Wont work in large scale wvw though, only for solo or small scale.

Apothecary is the bog standard bunker build for Rangers in WvW. Ranger has three regeneration sources (Shouts, Troll Urguent, and Signet) and many abilities that cause conditions (Fire trap can have a 6/12 duration/cooldown) although it shoehorns you into using Shortbow, Sword/Dagger or Axe/Torch.

Sword/Torch and Axe/Dagger are actually better. Never put all your evades in the same basket. WvW ranger roaming is fun with apoth or settler’s stuff.
