Warrior or Guardian?

Both Tank Builds.

Both use mainly Greatsword.

It’s important to note every class has perks and you should bring every class to a fight.

From the barriers that Guardians provide to the blast finishers that Warriors have, there is so much diversity between the two classes. You won’t find a definitive answer here, only people telling you to just bring both – because they’re both useful.

Well which class has more survival?

The thief

You’ve been pretty much shaping up a guardian from the beginning there.

I prefer guardian,also i can go to a anti zerg build with only 15k hp or my 21k build, depend if i have to make some support for my mate on wvw or dun also.

Heres the thing..

I don’t currently have any ascended stuff on me but I do havr crafted accessories and i’m geared up.

all exotics on both toons. My guardian has around 17k hp. 3100 armor.
My Warrior has about 30,000 hp, 3000 armor.

I’m trying to figure out which of the 2 classes would be better of even in zergs with a greatsword.

By the looks of it Warrior seems to be way over guardian stats wise but guardian has a ton more boons they can use if they want and healing too so it’s a hard decision

The thief

Nah, Tanky DPS retaliation guardians wreck thieves.

Honestly, Guardians are great and can do a lot. Same with the warrior. Just depends on taste.

Guardians have more staying power.

Warriors have more DPS.

They both have their uses. Hammerstorm warriors backed up with guardians putting out retail and stab and other buffs is absolutely nasty.

This is probably right for PvE, but you will want a better weapon for WvW.

Well if youre running around in a zerg then either really. If, however, you choose to get creative and join a WvW guild then all sorts of possibilities open up. We focus heals and defense on a tanky Guardian who ‘absorbs’ the damage you see when you encounter a zerg/larger group. Its a tactic that has served us well but I myself play a Hammer Warrior. I used to hate the hammer but started using it just as a change and in large group battles the F1 skill is immense. Its built for control so while I dont do a great deal of damage im forever getting credit for kills because im helping kill. Think what you can bring to your party.

They have different roles. Depends what your team needs atm – can’t really compare the two.

If you absolutely want to use a GS:

On zergs:
– Guardian has a good AoE pull with the GS, that (with tanky build) can make it usefull to get some of the frontline enemies to you and your friends to finish.
– Warrior with GS is more mobile and with higher dps. Its great to finish off low/downed oponents and chase runners.

But you should see what:
– best fits your aesthetical/playstile needs
– best fits your group/guild needs

In the end, depends a lot on what you plan to do (run solo, small groups, zerg, etc) and who are you going with.

All in all they are both good in WvW

It is the best single target ranged weapon they have. A glass cannon thief will kill most players in 2 abilities, so yes.

If you want to just tank then Guardian. Yes Warriors have more hp, but Guards make up for it in boons and better defensive/healing abilities.

Bleed thieves are by far the most annoying to face on a guardian. Direct damage thieves are a joke.
