If you want to solo dungeons, warrior is better.
Otherwise, the answer is yes.

But mesmers get a point for being purple.

Both have advantages. Sometimes a mesmer portal can be a real help in dungeons. In fact, mesmers are often welcome in dungeons for a number of reasons including feedback, timewarp and even chaos storm. I love playing my mesmer in dungeons.
Warriors are wanted for their damage output, mostly, the ability to burn things down quickly. There are some groups that really want warriors, but that’s a minority of the people out there. Frankly, I wouldn’t run with any of those people.
Mesmer or Warrior?
Post which out of the 2 classes and list your reason.
What about for FoTM Dungeon?
Warriors in general perform better regardless of player ability since they’re easier to play. So warriors if you’re talking about it in general. Mesmers on the other hand are very very lethal and effective on the right players or can be downright near useless in the wrong hands. (bottom line though, they’ll still be able to chuck down a time warp)
Mesmer if you want to be popular. Bonus popularity in WvW.
Warrior if you want to steamroll through PvE.
The answer is Yes.
actually its yes and maybe
Warrior. Don’t go full dps. Can’t do good damage while you’re laying on your back.

Tell that to this guy.

Warriors are needed 4 to 1 over Mesmers in speed-runs, so the obvious answer is Warrior.
I play them both. Warrior comes down to positioning, hitting #2 and using shouts. Mesmer is more about wondering where my clones are headed off to and making sure Time Warp hits everyone at a good time.
It varies really. And depends on how you like to play. I like to bring the class I think has more value in the whole party setup.
For example, in AC I almost always bring my Warrior or Elementalist. Having Kholer focus on me if I’m on my Warrior helps tons, as he’s not jumping all over the place. Meanwhile I just sit there and face tank him.
But for Fractals, I bring my Mesmer. That’s rather personal preference though. I have more fun on my Mesmer since it’s squishier, and it keeps me on my toes.
So basically, it depends on what the group already consists of, and what you can bring to the table to help out the group.

Even beyond purple, Mesmers generally look much, much better than warriors in combat. And, I can attest as a native Californian, that looking the part is far more than half the battle (at least if you are playing in CA).

I have only been through dungeons as a Ranger or Elementailst, for token runs I like the Ranger we had two Necro’s, 1 ranger, 1 warrior and 1 Guardian and we burned AC pretty quickly.
Would like to try Mesmer in dungeon, which will happen as I just got to the AC level, Weapon switching is a must to keep a good steady supply of clones going. Have to read up on mesmer in dungeons to find the best weapon combo and traits
Warrior doesn’t have any skill that can be mistaken for an enemy skill. :p
If the team lacks DPS, then Warrior is better.
If the team lacks a Mesmer then, duh, Mesmer it is.
